Terrified passengers on an easyJet flight from Turkey to Gatwick had to endure an emergency landing after they claimed a teenage girl flew into a rage when she had a row with a ten-year-old over her cough. Travellers on board the jet which had to make an unscheduled stop in Italy were said to have been 'physically sick' and 'fell in the toilet' as the 16 year old allegedly threatened to stab the cabin crew. It meant the EasyJet plane that flew from Antalya to Gatwick on Friday night was unable to land in the British airport and had to touch down in Bari instead. Eyewitnesses claim the teenage girl used language like 'get out of my face' leaving others passengers crying and distressed, including the mother of the little girl she had apparently lost her temper at. Nadine, 39, from Reading, was onboard the aircraft with her daughter Jernai, 19, when the carnage ensued and the pair described it as a 'fight from hell' that ruined their Christmas .

The family of a British grandmother who has been stranded in a Florida hospital for five weeks after catching Covid and developing pneumonia during a trip of a lifetime have issued an update on her condition. Patricia Bunting, 76, from Wigan, had been on a three week holiday with her grandson and two sons to Disney World when she fell ill and was hospitalised at Orland's Dr P. Phillips Hospital last month.  Her family started a GoFundMe earlier this month to raise enough money to bring her back home to the UK in an air ambulance so that she can continue to receive adequate care and  be surrounded by her loved ones.

As South Korea reels from the devastating Jeju Air plane crash that killed all but two of the 181 souls onboard on Sunday, experts have been questioning some of the actions of the pilot in the fateful four minutes before it crashed in a fireball. The plane, a Boeing 737-800m belly-landed, skidded off the end of the runway and erupted in a fireball as it hit an embankment at Muan International Airport on December 29 at 9am local time.  All 175 passengers and four crew were killed, making it the deadliest air disaster on South Korean soil, Only two other crew members, a man and a woman, were rescued from the tail of the burning plane.

Avicii's father has revealed the heartbreaking comment the DJ made after his family staged an intervention in Ibiza - and how he is still struggling with 'survivor's guilt' six years on from his son's death.  The Swedish musician (left), who is the subject of a the new Netflix documentary Avicii: I'm Tim, tragically took his own life at the age of 28 April in 2018. In his seven years in the spotlight, the artist - whose real name was Tim Bergling - achieved several top 10 singles across the globe and worked with world-famous artists such as Madonna, David Guetta, Lenny Kravitz and Coldplay. Speaking to the BBC , Avicii's father Klas (right) recalled how the family stepped in to try and stop Tim spiralling further into painkiller and alcohol addiction in summer 2015. At the time, he had achieved stratospheric commercial success with Hey Brother, which sold 2m copies in the US, and Wake Me Up, which was the UK's fastest selling single of 2013. However, Tim was struggling with his second album Stories, which had to be delayed several times amid his ongoing battle with addiction. Reflecting on the intervention, Klas - who previously said he felt he had 'betrayed' his son with the move -  added: 'You confront your child who is completely unaware of what's going to happen. You see that he realises something is planned behind his back.'

A black project manager at Heathrow Airport sued it for more than a £1million for discrimination after she was 'strip searched' when she set off a scanner. Veleta Brown, left, said she felt she had been 'violated' when security officer Sorien Monfries asked her to step to the side to carry out a 'private search'.
The project manager said she was 'treated as a criminal' and that she was allegedly 'marched' out of the room by two security guards, an employment tribunal heard. She lodged a grievance against the London airport and claimed the search amounted to racial discrimination and harassment. However, after suing Heathrow for more than £1million, an employment judge has now dismissed her claims, ruling that the search was 'not related' to her race.

Good Morning Britain viewers have all been left saying the same thing about a 103-year-old World War Two veteran who features on the New Years Honours list.  Colin Bell, a Second World War mosquito pilot, who will receive British Empire medal this year for his charitable endeavours, is the oldest to receive an honour this year.  The RAF Veteran, previously won the Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) - a gallantry award - for his work with the 608 Squadron where he survived 50 raids over Germany.
