CN Employees’ and Pensioners’ Community Fund
We are proud that the CN Employees’ and Pensioners’ Community Fund has planned and organized fundraising activities and annual campaigns in support of many registered Canadian charities for over 55 years. The Community Fund, run by CN employees and pensioners acting on behalf of their colleagues, gives every dollar donated directly to the designated charities.
One of the largest and most successful funds of its kind in Canada, the Community Fund expanded to the United States in 2022, giving employees in the U.S.A. opportunities to get involved and help their communities.
The 2024 campaign raised $2.14 million. Over the past 10 years, the Community Fund has raised $19.5 million, supporting over 600 charities focusing on humanitarian aid, child support, health and research, and community well-being.

Alberta Fires 2023 Emergency Appeal
In response to the wildfires that burned across Alberta in May 2023, the Community Fund set up an emergency appeal benefitting the Canadian Red Cross Alberta Fires Emergency Appeal. With CN matching donations dollar for dollar, a total of $24,278 was raised to help the residents of Alberta affected by the wildfires.
Spinning for Cedars
CN employees, friends and family came together to bike in memory of our dear colleague Audrey Lapalme. A fundraising spinning session was organized by the Community Fund in collaboration with CN’s Financial Planning department, raising $20,050 for the Cedars Cancer Foundation.
