Dr. Mary McAleese, former President of Ireland and an advocate for peace and social justice, served as the commencement honoree and guest speaker during Misericordia’s winter graduation on Sunday in the Anderson Sports and Health Center.

![Two of the 12 school districts in Luzerne County — Dallas and Lake-Lehman — exceeded the state proficiency average on all three Keystone Exams this year. The Keystone Exams in algebra, biology and literature are end-of-course assessments that 11th grade students in Pennsylvania take to evaluate their proficiency.
