PROJECT INFORMATION

The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is a prominent, IRS-recognized 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit public charity. For more than 60 years, the U.S. Marine Corps has fulfilled the hopes and dreams of our nation’s less-fortunate children during the Christmas holiday season through its Toys for Tots Program.

CHALLENGES

Processing monetary donations in-house was overwhelming the Toys for Tots staff. They lacked the time, staff and money to handle the donations effectively, which led to excessive float time and too many errors. Therefore, money was not getting in the bank quickly enough and the problem was breaking down their ability to carry out their mission. Without a solution, the organization faced the challenge of successful donor acquisition and retention, and in turn, less money to provide to families in need.

“We were getting swamped with donations being mailed directly to us, and after recognizing the need to find an effective and efficient partner to hold down expenses, maximize funds availability, increase reaction time and reduce errors, we made the decision to outsource that part of our business,” says Maj. Brian Murray, vice president of operations for Marine Toys for Tots.

SOLUTIONS
