Travis Kelce’s Favorite Fast Food Order Might Surprise You

But is it Taylor Swift-approved?

If we asked you what you thought an NFL player typically eats, you’d probably say a lot of grilled chicken, veggies, and maybe a few carbs here and there before working out. And while that is likely true for many players—and what we would have guessed until a few weeks ago, too—we’ve recently learned that there’s more to their diets than meets the eye.

For example, you might not expect a two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback to eat Doritos in bed every night or another two-time Super Bowl-winning tight end to indulge in slices of custardy French toast before every game. Yet, that’s exactly what Kanas City Chiefs Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce do.

So, you’d think that we wouldn’t be surprised to find out Kelce’s favorite fast food burger. And, while we weren’t shocked to learn that he eats fast food, necessarily—everyone has at least once in their lives, right?—we were stunned to learn where his fave burger comes from.

Travis Kelce's Favorite Fast Food Burger

On an episode of “New Heights,” the podcast Kelce shares with his brother, Philadelphia Eagles player Jason Kelce, Jason asks Travis to rank his top three favorite fast food burgers—the only stipulation being that the restaurant must have a drive-thru.

“I think Burger King’s got the best fast food burgers,” Travis says.

“I’ve been saying that for years!” Jason responds.

Some may consider this a bold claim—especially since Burger King ranks as one of the worst fast food restaurants in regards to its food’s taste, according to 2023’s Drive-Thru Study completed by Intouch Insight, and its Single Quarter Pound King ranked near the bottom of our fast food burger taste test. However, the Kelce brothers are really talking about one burger in particular: the Whopper, which is, of course, BK’s iconic 1/4-pound flame-grilled burger topped with tomatoes, lettuce, onions, mayo, ketchup, and pickles.

“Double Whopper with cheese? It’s the best,” says Jason. “You don’t even like mayonnaise; why do you like the Whopper if you don’t like mayonnaise?”

“No mayonnaise, no onions,” Travis responds.

After Burger King’s Whopper? Travis says “you can’t go wrong” with Wendy’s Baconator (which ranked second in our fast food bacon cheeseburger taste test) or an In-N-Out burger. Because, of course, In-N-Out had to make the west coaster’s list.

And, for all you Jason Kelce stans out there, he also shares his top three fast-food burgers. The first, obviously, is Burger King, followed by McDonald’s.

“And then number three, I just can’t go In-N-Out cause it’s not on the east coast. And I can’t go Shake Shack 'cause there’s not a drive-thru,” Jason says. “Number three: Steak ‘n Shake. I’m going with the Frisco Melt with the strawberry shake on the side or chocolate shake on the side, depending on the mood.”

While Travis doesn't seem to agree with the McDonald’s placement, he does compliment Steak ‘n Shake on its fries.

“Straw fries, man. Skinny fries, whoo-hoo-hoo,” Travis says.

Now, we know from Taylor Swift’s Vogue 73 Questions that she loves a fast food cheeseburger, fries, and chocolate shake. But the real question is, does she love Burger King as much as Travis? Because if so, that would really be a match made in fast food heaven.
