And, while customers are loving the Butternut Squash Mac & Cheese and Apple & Pumpkin Hand Pies, there’s one product that’s noticeably missing from TJ’s stores this year: its Pumpkin Rolls. Early in September, a Reddit user posted a thread titled “Pumpkin cinnamon rolls discontinued?” The user said an employee told them the seasonal Pumpkin Rolls had been discontinued and wouldn’t be on shelves this year—and they were looking for confirmation from other crew members. All you pumpkin cinnamon roll lovers out there might want to sit down for this because multiple crew members on two different Reddit threads have confirmed that the Pumpkin Rolls were indeed discontinued. Trader Joe's Trader Joe's Discontinues Its Pumpkin Rolls TJ’s Pumpkin Rolls were a seasonal product that rolled out in 2014. They were made by the same supplier as Trader Joe’s regular Organic Jumbo Cinnamon Rolls but with a unique fall twist. The Pumpkin Rolls featured real pumpkin and seasonal spices, like cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove, in the dough—plus a special icing with pumpkin purée and those same autumnal spices. The pumpkin-flavored cinnamon rolls have been a fan-loved staple for years—and one that usually sold out pretty quickly. With such a large fan base, customers are trying to determine why they were discontinued. “[I] asked for them 2 days ago and was told the distributor went out of business,” Reddit user @Educational-Most-267 commented. Whatever the reason, customers are clearly devastated that they won’t have their autumnal cinnamon rolls this year. “Just found out the pumpkin cinnamon rolls at Trader Joe's were discontinued. I hate this world,” X (formerly Twitter) user @GrrrbichJR tweeted. However, if it’s any consolation, Redditors began sharing alternatives for TJ’s Pumpkin Rolls that you can still buy. One user shared their theory that the company Immaculate Baking actually made the Pumpkin Rolls—before slapping a TJ’s private label on them. “I’m almost 100% that they were made by Immaculate Baking. Whole Foods will carry their pumpkin cinnamon rolls and sometimes smaller organic grocery stores carry their brands too,” @hereforthemem3ofit posted. Another user said that Aldi sells a tube of Jumbo Pumpkin Rolls in the fall that might fill the void.Or, if you’re up for baking, you could always try our Kelsandra’s Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls recipe that will give you warm, spiced cinnamon rolls with a cream cheese frosting. We know it's not the same as the Trader Joe's version, but it might just have to do until you can petition the company to bring back the fall treat. Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback!
