Food News and Trends Grocery The Best New Item at Trader Joe's Isn’t Edible And it’s only $3. By Annie Campbell Published on March 2, 2024 Close Photo: Dotdash Meredith/Janet Maples We all know Trader Joe's has an unbeatable selection of food, from the delicious frozen dinners to the four-dollar dips to the ever-creative crunchy snacks. But, what you might not realize about the market is how many fun and fair-priced goods in their product line go beyond grocery. Case in point, the newest non-edible product that TJ’s customers have been going crazy for. It’s reusable, multi-functional, and, priced at just $2.99, it's ridiculously cheap. New Trader Joe’s Mini Totes The beloved Trader Joe’s tote bags have officially gone "mini," and fans are freaking out. “NEED” is pretty much the summary of this TikTok comment section. TJ’s totes are known for being the ultimate shopping sack—reliable, sturdy as can be, and totally on trend with other popular bag brands (we’re looking at you, L.L. Bean.) And when you need to put them to work—we mean, carry all your purchases over one shoulder kind of work—they do the job ten times better than any doubled-up paper bag ever could. “I can fill them with as many bottles of wine and cartons of soup as I want and they won’t break,” testified Allrecipes editor, Corey Williams. “My back would break before the bag would.” The totes are cool, comfy, and endlessly functional, whether you need them to be a beach bag, a travel tote, or an overnight bag. And, now that they’re available in smaller sizes, customers are opened up to a whole new world of uses. The durable canvas bags, available in red, green, navy, and yellow, are made from a tear-proof 65% cotton and 35% polyester blend and measure 13 inches long by 11 inches tall. While the large totes can typically fit your entire Sunday shopping haul, the mini totes are designed more for daily trips and quick lunch-hour runs. “It’ll fit a dozen of your favorite TJ’s apples, or you can fill your Mini Tote with TJ’s snacks and sweets to keep you munching on your next road trip,” the Trader Joe’s website shares. “You can even stash a small paperback in the handy side pocket, along with a Ciabatta Demi-Baguette, Organic String Cheese, and Citterio Salami Sticks for a relaxing spring afternoon in the park.” Chic. Unfortunately, these adorable totes will only be available for a limited time, so it might be worth pushing your shopping schedule up by a few days if you really want to score a mini sack (or, more accurately, purchase one in every color).
