The Most Adorable Gingerbread House Kit Is Only $9 but Won’t Last Long

The holidays are a time to spend with family and friends, and what better way to do that than to get crafty with your sweet treats? A gingerbread house is always a fun craft to make (and eventually eat) with others, and there are so many varieties on the market.

Trader Joe's recently released its brand-new Gingerbread House Kit for the holiday season. The new kit comes with everything you need to build a classic gingerbread house and then some. There is a cookie base for the foundation, pieces of gingerbread for the walls and roof, fruit gummies and chocolate for decoration, and ready-to-make icing to seal everything together. 

But the real selling point in this kit is the cute woodland creatures that come with it. These adorable animals, which include an owl, deer, squirrel, and fox, are made of sugar and provide the perfect addition to the cozy little A-frame. 

Many have already picked up their kits to make at home. Instagram user traderjoesnew posted about the “adorable” find, and many comments followed: “I was impressed with this one…was a great holiday activity to do together.”

Others who haven’t bought one yet also expressed excitement about the new item, saying how “darling” it is.  One commenter exclaimed, “Omg soooo stinking cute!” 

However, not everyone was as enthusiastic. One commenter wasn’t thrilled about the required ingredients, saying, “The frosting requires an egg white, so you have to refrigerate your gingerbread house if you plan to eat any of it after the first day.” While another user noted they didn’t get everything in their kit: “I just opened mine and mine didn’t have the woodland creatures…that’s the entire reason I bought it.”

However, even with some of these so-so comments, the new gingerbread house kit still seems to be a hit holiday tradition for many, especially on TikTok, with users like nomadnirvana posting a video of making the gingerbread house as they “get into the holiday season!” along with dadventuresaz saying this is ideal for anyone “looking for a great inexpensive gingerbread making kit.”
