This apple and BBQ sauce baby back ribs recipe is one I did a couple of years ago. It takes some time, but it's worth it.

Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 8 servings

  • 4 cups barbecue sauce

  • 4 cups applesauce

  • 4 pounds baby back pork ribs

  • salt and ground black pepper to taste

  • cayenne pepper to taste

  • garlic powder to taste

Directions

  1. Combine barbecue sauce and applesauce in a bowl. Place ribs on a large sheet of heavy duty aluminum foil; rub salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and garlic powder on all sides ribs. Pour sauce over ribs to coat; seal ribs in foil. Marinate in the refrigerator 8 hours, or overnight.

  2. Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat and lightly oil the grate.

  3. Place ribs in foil on grill grate; cook 1 hour. Remove ribs from foil; place directly on the grate. Continue cooking until ribs are done, about 30 minutes, basting frequently with sauce.
