Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 10 servings

  • 7 (1 ounce) squares bittersweet chocolate

  • ½ cup heavy cream

  • 3 tablespoons butter

  • 3 tablespoons brandy

Directions

  1. Melt chocolate, cream, butter or margarine, and brandy together in a high-sided saucepan over medium heat, stirring frequently, until smooth.

  2. Cool completely and then spread or pipe over cake or cupcakes.

Tips

Store any extra ganache in the refrigerator. Ganache can be reheated in a double boiler, if needed to achieve a spreadable consistency.
