Original recipe (1X) yields 12 servings 5 pounds potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks 1 (8 ounce) container sour cream 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened ¼ cup margarine 1 tablespoon milk 1 tablespoon garlic powder, or more to taste 2 ½ teaspoons salt ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper ½ cup shredded Colby-Jack cheese, or more to taste Directions Place potatoes into a large pot and cover with salted water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until tender, 15 to 20 minutes. Drain. Return potatoes to the pot and mash until smooth.
