Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 12 servings

First Layer:

  • ½ cup butter, melted

Second Layer:

  • 1 cup white sugar

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 cup self-rising flour

Third Layer:

  • 1 ½ cups chopped pecans

  • 3 eggs, beaten

  • cup white sugar

  • ½ cup molasses

  • ½ cup light corn syrup

  • cup melted butter

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

  2. Pour 1/2 cup melted butter into a 9x13-inch baking pan.

  3. Combine 1 cup sugar, milk, and flour in a bowl. Pour mixture into the baking pan with the melted butter.

  4. Combine pecans, eggs, 2/3 cup sugar, molasses, corn syrup, 1/3 cup butter, and vanilla extract in a bowl and pour into the baking pan over the flour mixture.

  5. Bake in the preheated oven until set, 35 to 40 minutes. Serve warm.
