Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 24 servings

Pastry:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 3 ounces cream cheese, softened

Filling:

  • ¾ cup brown sugar

  • ½ cup chopped pecans

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 pinch salt

Directions

  1. Combine flour, butter, and cream cheese in a bowl. Cover and chill for 1 hour.

  2. Roll chilled dough into 24 balls and press into the cups of a mini muffin tin to make pastry shells.

  3. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).

  4. Mix brown sugar, pecans, egg, butter, vanilla extract, and salt together in a bowl. Spoon 1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon filling into each pastry shell.

  5. Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 25 minutes.
