This is the best recipe for a fresh and light vinaigrette coleslaw that goes well with everything. This is the only coleslaw recipe you'll use once you've tried it.

Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 6 servings

  • 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

  • 3 tablespoons canola oil

  • 3 tablespoons white sugar

  • ¼ teaspoon dry mustard

  • ¼ teaspoon poppy seeds

  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon hot pepper sauce (Optional)

  • 4 cups shredded green cabbage

  • 2 medium carrots, shredded

Directions

  1. Whisk vinegar, oil, sugar, mustard, poppy seeds, pepper, salt, and hot sauce together in a bowl until sugar has dissolved.

  2. Mix cabbage and carrots together in a large salad bowl. Pour vinaigrette over top and toss until well combined. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
