Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 6 servings

  • 1 pound lean ground beef

  • 1 cup chopped onion

  • ½ medium red bell pepper, chopped

  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can peeled and diced tomatoes

  • 1 cup spaghetti sauce

  • 1 cup salsa

  • ¼ cup taco sauce

  • 3 tablespoons chili powder

  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic

  • 1 large bay leaf

  • 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained

Directions

  1. Cook ground beef, onion, and bell pepper in a large stockpot over medium-high heat until beef is browned, 7 to 10 minutes. Drain off excess fat.

  2. Stir in diced tomatoes, spaghetti sauce, salsa, taco sauce, chili powder, garlic, and bay leaf. Reduce the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 1 1/2 hours.

  3. Stir in kidney beans and cook until heated through, 3 to 5 minutes. Discard bay leaf and serve.
