Do not use a blender or a food processor to mince your mango in this recipe. There is more damage done to the cellular structure in a blender, which can create a noticeably different taste and texture. I'll always believe my spicy mango sauce tastes better because I cut it by hand.

Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 2 servings

  • ¾ cup finely minced mango

  • ¼ cup seasoned rice wine vinegar

  • 1 lemon, juiced

  • 1 clove garlic, crushed

  • 1 teaspoon hot chili paste (such as sambal oelek)

  • ½ small Thai chile pepper, minced

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro

Directions

  1. Combine mango, rice wine vinegar, lime juice, garlic, hot chili paste, and Thai chile pepper in a bowl. Cover and let rest 30 minutes. Stir in cilantro.
