Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 10 servings

  • 1 ½ pounds button mushrooms

  • 1 ½ tablespoons white sugar

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • ¾ cup white vinegar

  • cup olive oil

  • 1 ½ tablespoons salt

  • 1 teaspoon chopped garlic

  • ½ teaspoon monosodium glutamate (such as Ac'cent)

  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano

Directions

  1. Combine mushrooms, sugar, onion, vinegar, oil, salt, garlic, monosodium glutamate, red pepper flakes, black pepper, and oregano in a large container; mix well. Cover container; marinate in the refrigerator for 3 days.
