Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 12 servings

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup white sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • ¼ cup vegetable oil

  • 2 cups peeled and chopped apple

  • ½ cup chopped walnuts

  • ½ cup raisins

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a small fluted tube pan.

  2. Sift flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt together in a bowl. Set aside.

  3. Mix sugar, egg, and oil together in another bowl. Stir in the flour mixture just until combined; fold in apple, walnuts, and raisins.

  4. Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean, about 1 hour.

Cook’s Note

You can use dates instead of raisins, and any kind of chopped nut that you like.
