My mom's easy creamed chipped beef on toast is great for cold winter mornings. Everyone licks the pot clean when I make this. You can season with salt and pepper to your taste.

Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 8 servings

  • 5 cups milk

  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

  • ½ cup butter

  • 12 ounces beef lunch meat (such as Carl Buddig)

  • 16 slices bread, toasted

Directions

  1. Whisk milk, flour, salt, and pepper together in a large bowl until smooth.

  2. Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Gradually stir in milk mixture until thick. Add beef; cook and stir until heated through, about 5 minutes.

  3. Pour beef mixture over toast to serve.
