Especially when it comes to breakfast, not all of us have the time to whip up a decadent omelet or even think about what to make. Often, we just want something simple and filling to get us started on our day. We’re not the only ones who feel this way. TV host and cookbook author Ina Garten, known for seriously delicious and elaborate meals, has been enjoying a simple oatmeal breakfast every morning for the past 10 years. Another celeb who can relate to our need for a quick and easy breakfast routine? Kevin Bacon. Even his Sunday morning breakfast only requires three ingredients. Kevin Bacon’s 3-Ingredient Sunday Morning Pancakes On an exclusive appearance in "People," Bacon said he often makes these three-ingredient pancakes on Sunday mornings for his wife, Kyra Sedgwick, and himself. “Sometimes what I do on Sunday morning, when I’m feeling like I need a little power — and usually this happens when my wife, Kyra, is asleep, so I have to whisper — I make these pancakes that don’t have any flour,” Bacon told People. “The response is good. People are like, ‘Wow, is that a pancake? You don’t have any flour in this at all, huh?’” The three ingredients used for these Sunday morning pancakes are eggs, banana, and almond butter. Bacon also sprinkles cinnamon on top of the pancakes for the finishing touch. “The banana makes it sweet, the almond butter gives you tons of protein and the egg makes it hold together,” he said. “They’re absolutely delicious. They’re really, really good for you, but even if they weren’t good for you, I would still make them.” The Golden Globe Winner adds that he's not one to stick to strict cooking rules in the kitchen. He’s more about trying out his own thing and simply winging it. “Now, here’s the thing about me as a cook. I have no idea about measurements. I just never measured things,” Bacon said. “[Kyra] likes to have the recipe and read it, and follow it. I rarely follow a recipe. I love recipes because I learn something new, I get inspired by something. I like that stuff, but I generally adjust it.” Whatever Bacon’s doing in the kitchen seems to be working for him. We can’t wait to try these pancakes when we’re craving something hearty and nutritious without much work—or ingredients—to worry about. Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback! Tell us why!
