Quite literally halved all ingredients, weighing everything with a digital scale. Our mix-ins were butterscotch chips and dried cranberries. I was very lazy and made this as a one-bowl recipe. I melted the butter in the microwave with the sugars, then followed the rest of the directions. The only thing I might change would be to spin the oats in a blender or food processor just a bit so the bite would not be as “rustic” if you get my meaning ;) Helpful (0) Chickn_Tika marked MoMo’s E-Z Drop Biscuits Recipe review helpful. 1 week ago Chickn_Tika reviewed cicada77’s MMMMM... Brownies Recipe. 2 weeks ago Excellent basic brownie. Quality chocolate is important to make it superb. Personal preference would be to either reduce the sugar or use less sweet chocolate. Also could add walnuts to balance the sweetness but my family protests this sort of thing. I cooked this in glass 8x8 for 25 minutes, 325F, non convection. Will increase time next time for crispier edges. Helpful (0) Chickn_Tika marked liora144’s MMMMM... Years ago I would make this with a can of cream of mushroom and canned corn and canned green beans. This recipe is so much better. I did use lean ground beef because that was what I had and since I had a guest over with gluten intolerance, I thickened this with a cornstarch slurry instead of the flour. To do this, mix about 2 T of cornstarch with a little of the broth. Once the beef mixture is bubbling, stir the slurry into the skillet and keep stirring until thickened. I served this with a side of sautéed zucchini and added Valentina hot sauce to my portion. The whole family loved it and sadly- no leftovers. Helpful (1) Chef John's Sloppy Joes 06/03/2020 I made this and CJs hamburger buns. These were pretty incredible. I did make some adjustments to my needs: 1#beef, 1#turkey, half a red bell pepper and 2 jalapeno, 1.5 cups sliced mushrooms, onion powder. Aside from that- used the same technique and exact measurements for the sauce. Perfection and that bun really makes it toe-curling good. Served with pickles and slice red onion. Helpful (0) Chef John's Refried Beans 05/31/2020 This recipe is incredible. My entire family loved it. I made it exactly as the recipe was written. We've been making leftovers into bean dip and chips and bean and cheese burritos.
