Citrus Adobo Margarita

This citrus adobo Margarita combines the bright flavors of fresh lime and orange juice with the smoky, spicy essence of adobo sauce. It is the perfect blend of zesty, spicy, and refreshing! For an extra smoky kick, use half silver tequila and half mezcal.

Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 1 servings

  • 2 lime wedges

  • 1 teaspoon chili-lime seasoning (such as Tajin®) 

  • 2 cups ice, or as needed

  • 1 1/2 fluid ounces silver tequila

  • 1 fluid ounce triple sec or other orange liqueur

  • 1 fluid ounce fresh lime juice

  • 1 fluid ounce fresh orange juice

  • 1 teaspoon adobo sauce (from a can of chipotle peppers in adobo sauce) 

  • 1 teaspoon agave syrup

Directions

  1. Sprinkle chili lime seasoning onto a plate. Moisten the rim of a glass with a lime wedge. Press the moistened rim into the seasoning. Fill the glass with ice.

  2. Fill a cocktail shaker with tequila, triple sec, lime juice, orange juice, adobo sauce, and agave syrup. Add 1 cup ice. Seal and shake vigorously until outside is frosted, 10 to 15 seconds.

  3. Strain margarita into the glass and garnish with remaining lime wedge.
