The recalled Danish may contain pecans, but the package does not declare the nut’s presence—making the Kringle unsafe to eat for those with pecan allergies or sensitivities. Raspberry Kringle Sold at Aldi Recalled Aldi The pastries impacted by this recall are the Racine Danish Kringles Raspberry Kringles that were sold at Aldi stores in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. The recalled Kringle will bear the lot code “23299.” Aldi also sells an Almond Kringle that’s produced by Racine Danish Kringles; however, that Kringle is not impacted by this recall. Only the Raspberry Kringle is improperly labeled without the nut allergen alert. Racine Danish Kringles recalled its Raspberry Kringle after customers reported that the pastry contained pecans, but the packaging did not have the proper allergy warning. The recall was issued because the Raspberry Kringle is not safe to eat for anyone with pecan allergies or sensitivities and could cause severe or life-threatening allergic reactions if consumed. However, there have not been any reports of illnesses caused by eating the recalled pastry. If you have the recalled Raspberry Kringle, you can return it to your Aldi store for a full refund. But, please note that although the Kringle is being recalled, there is nothing inherently unsafe about the Danish—rather, it was mislabeled as not containing any nuts. So, if you do not have a nut allergy, it is still safe to eat the Raspberry Kringle if you want to. However, anyone with the Kringle—with a nut allergy or not—is entitled to a refund because of the recall. If you have any questions about the recall, you can contact Racine Danish Kringles’ Quality Assurance Department at 262-633-1819. Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback! Tell us why!
