Aldi’s $4 Chocolate Dessert Is a Sweet Treat With an Added Bonus

"These definitely hit!"

Aldi is home to some solid holiday treats. We’re big fans of the Winternacht Traditional Panettone found at the retail chain along with the almond or raspberry Danish Kringles (that are even cheaper than ones found at Trader Joe’s!).

But, there is a smooth chocolatey dessert that has caught our attention that will not only satisfy your sweet tooth but also come with a pretty cool souvenir that many have put to good use.

Aldi’s Specially Selected Chocolate Mousse Cups

Aldi recently released its Specially Selected Chocolate Mousse Cups for the holiday season, which is perfect for when you’re looking for a little something sweet to pair with your holiday movie binging.

The dessert comes with two glass jars full of chocolate mousse and chocolate cookie crumbles that all get topped off with chocolate sauce and chocolate shavings. The retail giant also offers these mousse cups in a caramel flavor if that’s more your jam. Whichever you choose, you’ll only be looking at $4 to spend on a set of two. Not bad.

Many of Aldi’s customers are excited about the yummy find. On a recent Reddit thread dedicated to the Specially Selected Chocolate Mousse Cups, one user said “Mmmm, love these” while another agreed that they too, also “love the chocolate mousse.”

While we’re all about a tasty dessert, we also appreciate that this one has something a little extra special: those little glass jars they come in. Sure, the mousse looks pretty sitting in them, but it’s what we can do after we’ve eaten the chocolate that’s really fun.

On the same Reddit thread, many were chatting about the glassware, “I was more excited about the glass jars than the dessert” and how they use them, “The little glass jars make perfect little tea light holders.”

On another Reddit thread, some even said “I use them for when I make espresso in the morning or I'm cooking meals and need to portion out spices” and “My kids like to use them as fancy orange juice cups...”

The Specially Selected Chocolate Mousse Cups are not the first of its kind. Aldi has offered similar products in the past, such as the Belgian Dark Chocolate Mousse and Raspberry Mousse that many enjoyed, but more importantly, they found the glass jars to be incredibly useful in the home. We love a dessert that comes with an extra treat.
