And although the novel was written about a century ago, it remains interesting. The authors of the book together with a couple of friends went on a trip to America. They stayed there for a little more than three months and during that time managed to see a lot. In the book, they share their impressions, telling unusual and curious things.
During their stay, Ilya and Evgeny and their friends learned details from different spheres of life. There are arguments about food that was unusual for Russians and sometimes seemed harsh or tasteless. It is written about some sports. The authors present to the readers descriptions of many cities, their surroundings, beautiful landscapes.
Special attention is paid to how unusual it was for Russian travelers to see advertising everywhere, which seemed very intrusive and just drove them crazy. Previously, there was no such thing in the USSR, but now we ourselves live in such a world. But a hundred years ago, it was a shock for Russian people.
Readers will be able to find out the details of the life of Americans, their views on life. For example, it is customary here to help if a person needs it. At the same time, the inhabitants of this country appear somewhat insensitive and detached. Writers also talk about celebrities, about how films are made in Hollywood. And a lot of other interesting things can be seen on this journey, one has only to open the book, and different places of America will flash before your eyes one after another.
