"What About Love" is a song originally recorded by Canadian rock group Toronto but is best known for the 1985 release by the rock group Heart. The song was Heart's "comeback" single. It was the first Heart track to reach the top 40 in three years, and their first top 10 hit in five. It was released as the first single from the band's self-titled 1985 album, Heart, as well as their first hit single on their new record label, Capitol Records.
Background
The song was originally recorded in 1983 by Canadian rock group Toronto, of which songwriters Sheron Alton and Brian Allen were members. (The other songwriter, Jim Vallance, was not a member of Toronto, though he played drums on Toronto's recording of the song.) However, Toronto, by group vote, elected not to release their version at that time. Following the band's breakup, Brian Allen played Toronto's demo of the song to Michael McCarty at ATV Music Publishing. McCarty agreed to represent the song and he offered it to Heart who turned it into a worldwide hit. Toronto's original version remained commercially unreleased until 2002, when it appeared as a bonus cut on the CD Toronto: The Greatest Hits.
The music video was directed by Colin Tilley. Visual effects were created by GloriaFX. This music video was Mahone's first to be certified in the digital platform Vevo on January 1, 2015, which means that it was his first clip to receive over 100 million views on that platform. It was filmed in Hollywood Beach,Florida. Some scenes were taken in a known motel named "Diane".
The Toronto Professional Hockey Club was Toronto's first professional ice hockey team, founded in 1906. The team played the 1906–07 season in exhibition games against other professional teams. In 1908, the team was one of the founders of the Ontario Professional Hockey League (OPHL). The club operated for two seasons in the OPHL, 1908 and 1909, before disbanding. The club challenged unsuccessfully for the Stanley Cup in 1908. They were usually referred to as the Toronto Argonauts.
On November 14, 1906, the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) banned Bruce Ridpath, Rolly Young and Harry Burgoyne from playing with the Toronto Marlboros. The three had been receiving money to play, strictly banned by the OHA. On November 22, Ridpath announced the formation of the Toronto Pros. Ridpath would be captain, and Alexander Miln was named as manager. Miln was manager of the Mutual Street Rink and had previously managed the Toronto Wellingtons, Stanley Cup challengers in 1902. On November 24, Miln attended a meeting of the International Hockey League (IHL) and secured a place in the IHL for the Pros for the 1907–08 season. For the initial season, the Toronto Pros would play only exhibition games.
What about Love? was originally recorded in 1982 by Canadian rock group, Toronto.

Toronto - What About Love (AOR / Melodic Rock)
A great melodic rock song originally written by Toronto before it was given to the more famous Wilson sister's band Heart. Toronto actually disagreed on putting the song on their album so it ended up a bonus track.. little would they know a few years later Heart would land a massive hit with this song.

In a career spanning over 40 years it seems inconceivable that they have never performed at London’s most famous venue The Royal Albert Hall. That changed in June 2016 as the band appeared with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra adding some a classical vibe to hits like These Dreams, Alone and What about Love, they also reinvented old favourites like Dreamboat Annie and Magic Man while rocking the house to the rafters with Crazy on You and Barracuda. This very special show was most certainly not just nostalgia as the band and their extra 68 backing musicians also played tracks from their 16th album Beautiful Broken

I've been lonely, I've been waiting for you I'm pretending and that's all I can do The love I'm sending Ain't making it through to your heart You've been hiding never letting it show Always trying to keep it under control You got it down and you're well On the way to the top but there's something that you forgot What about love, don't you want someone to care about you What about love, don't let it slip away What about love I only want to share it with you You might need it some day I can't tell you what you're feeling inside I can't sell you what you don't want to buy Some thing's missing and you got to Look back on your life you know something here just ain't right What about love, don't you want someone to care about you What about love, don't let it slip away What about love I only want to share it with you What about love, don't you want someone to care about you What about love, don't let it slip away What about love
