Joan Elizabeth Osborne (born July 8, 1962) is an American singer-songwriter and interpreter of music, having recorded and performed in various popular American musical genres including pop, soul, R&B, blues and country. She is best known for her recording of the Eric Bazilian song "One of Us". She has toured with Motown sidemen the Funk Brothers and was featured in the documentary film about them, Standing in the Shadows of Motown.
Biography
Originally from Anchorage, Kentucky, a suburb of Louisville, Osborne moved to New York City in the late 1980s, where she formed her own record label, Womanly Hips, to release a few independent recordings. She signed with Mercury Records, and released her first full-length album, Soul Show: Live at Delta 88, in 1991. Her second (and first major label) album was Relish (1995), which became a hit on the strength of the single "One of Us." "Right Hand Man" and "St. Teresa" were minor hits, and "Spider Web" also received radio play. Osborne is bisexual. Her song "After Jane," on the album Pretty Little Stranger, touches on this as it is about a relationship between herself and a woman.
"The Weight" is a song originally by the Canadian-American group The Band that was released as Capitol Recordssingle 2269 in 1968 and on the group's debut album Music from Big Pink. Written by Band member Robbie Robertson, the song is about a visitor's experiences in a town mentioned in the lyric's first line as Nazareth. "The Weight" has significantly influenced American popular music, having been listed as #41 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time published in 2004.Pitchfork Media named it the 13th best song of the Sixties, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame named it one of the 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll.PBS, which broadcast performances of the song in "Ramble at the Ryman" (2011), "Austin City Limits" (2012), and "Quick Hits" (2012), describes it as "a masterpiece of Biblical allusions, enigmatic lines and iconic characters" and notes its enduring popularity as "an essential part of the American songbook."
Created by George F. Walker and Dani Romain, the series is being produced by The Nightingale Company, and shot by Richmond Street Films. The program was originally announced under the working title The Weight.
Characters
Max (Ron White) and Donny (Daniel Kash) are two morally ambiguous police officers dealing with the drug network in their precinct. Frustrated by the limitations and regulations of conventional police work, Max regularly steps outside the bounds of legality by pursuing his own tactics, while Donny has been so torn apart by the job that he spends most of his time drunk and lounging around a seedy motel, only occasionally going out on — and usually messing up — the actual police duties given to him by Max.
Carlos (Clé Bennett) is a drug dealer recently paroled from prison, struggling to rebuild his life but caught in a turf war between rival drug kingpins Andre (Wes Williams) and Eddie (Von Flores). He suffers from stress-induced migraines and stomach pains.
"The Weight" is the 43rd episode of the HBO original series The Sopranos and is the fourth of the show's fourth season. It was written by Terence Winter, directed by Jack Bender and originally aired on October 6, 2002.

Tender as a peach Someone I would love to teach Started as a joke Just a lazy little poke Woke up one sweet day And I could not run away This will start to bleed No I cannot take this speed I'm in Baby Love (Baby Love) I'm in Baby Love (Baby Love) I'm in Baby Love, yeah It was innocent Wonder where your manners went How was I to know It would never let me go Drag it through the mud Will we ever see some blood You would try to leave Something I cannot conceive I'm in Baby Love (Baby Love) I'm in Baby Love (Baby Love) I'm in Baby Love, yeah Take me in your fist Prove to me that you exist Be as plain as day Watch my body melt away There in black and white Victim of my appetite Make me understand Do you want to be the man? I'm in Baby Love (Baby Love) I'm in Baby Love (Baby Love) I'm in Baby Love, yeah I'm in Baby Love (Baby Love) I'm in Baby Love (Baby Love) I'm in Baby Love, yeah (Baby Love) (Baby Love) I'm in a baby love and a' I'm in a baby love and a' I'm in a baby love again
