Joan Elizabeth Osborne (born July 8, 1962) is an American singer-songwriter and interpreter of music, having recorded and performed in various popular American musical genres including pop, soul, R&B, blues and country. She is best known for her recording of the Eric Bazilian song "One of Us". She has toured with Motown sidemen the Funk Brothers and was featured in the documentary film about them, Standing in the Shadows of Motown.
Biography
Originally from Anchorage, Kentucky, a suburb of Louisville, Osborne moved to New York City in the late 1980s, where she formed her own record label, Womanly Hips, to release a few independent recordings. She signed with Mercury Records, and released her first full-length album, Soul Show: Live at Delta 88, in 1991. Her second (and first major label) album was Relish (1995), which became a hit on the strength of the single "One of Us." "Right Hand Man" and "St. Teresa" were minor hits, and "Spider Web" also received radio play. Osborne is bisexual. Her song "After Jane," on the album Pretty Little Stranger, touches on this as it is about a relationship between herself and a woman.
Despite initially peaking at only number 195 on the Billboard 200 upon its release, Gish was eventually certified platinum (one million copies shipped) by the RIAA.
Recording
Gish was recorded from December 1990 to March 1991 in Butch Vig's Smart Studios in Madison, Wisconsin with a budget of $20,000. Vig and Billy Corgan worked together as co-producers. The longer recording period and larger budget were unprecedented for Vig, who later remembered,
The inclusion of a massive production style reminiscent of ELO and Queen was unusual for an independent band at the time. Whereas many albums at the time used drum sampling and processing, Gish used unprocessed drum recordings, and an exacting, unique guitar sound. Billy Corgan also performed nearly all of the guitar and bass parts on the record, which was confirmed by Vig in a later interview.
"Bury Me" is the first single by heavy metal band Black Tide from their second studio album, Post Mortem. It was released on September 17, 2010, and includes a B-side called "Honest Eyes", which was also released as a stand alone digital single. Both of the songs were written some band members and Josh Wilbur, and produced by Josh Wilbur and GGGarth.
Music video
On December 20, 2010, the band released the music video for the song. The music video live footage shot by the band during their fall 2010 tour. On the same day, the band also released a similar live video for their old single "Warriors of Time" from their previous album Light from Above.
Live performance
The song was performed live for the first time on September 24, 2010, at the Fillmore in Charlotte, North Carolina, while supporting Bullet for my Valentine. On that night, the band also played another new song called "Let It Out".
Sound
The sound is much different from the band's previous album Light from Above. This can be heard mostly due to Gabriel Garcia's change in vocal style, which is now much darker. The speed metal influence is no longer present, with the sound is being more melodic, heavier and a bit slower than the previous album. It also features small metalcore elements such as a breakdown and screamed vocals.
Bury (/ˈbɛri/, locally also /ˈbʊrɪ/) is a town in Greater Manchester, England, on the River Irwell, 5.5 miles (8.9km) east of Bolton, 5.9 miles (9.5km) west-southwest of Rochdale, and 7.9 miles (12.7km) north-northwest of Manchester. Bury is the largest settlement and administrative centre of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury and in 2011 had a population of 55,856.
The name Bury, (also earlier known as "Buri" and "Byri") comes from an Old English word, meaning "castle", "stronghold" or "fort", an early form of modern English borough.
A burh (Old English pronunciation:[ˈburx]) or burg was an Old English fortification or fortified settlement. In the 9th century, raids and invasions by Vikings prompted Alfred the Great to develop a network of burhs and roads to use against such attackers. Some were new constructions; others were situated at the site of Iron Agehillforts or Romanforts and employed materials from the original fortifications. As at Lundenburh (medieval London), many were also situated on rivers: this facilitated internal lines of supply while aiming to restrict access to the interior of the kingdom for attackers in shallow-draught vessels such as longships.
Burhs also had a secondary role as commercial and sometimes administrative centres. Their fortifications were used to protect England's various royal mints.

In a career that spans over fifteen years, Joan has proven to be an artistically restless yet consistently enthralling performer. In 2002, she cemented her reputation as a top tier soul singer with an incredible turn in the acclaimed documentary film 'Standing in the Shadows of Motown,' followed by a tour with legendary Motown backing band The Funk Brothers. In 2003, Osborne toured with the Dixie Chicks and then surprised and wowed audiences touring throughout America for two years as the lead singer for The Dead. In 2007, she graced the stage of the Grand Ole Opry. Osborne loves to sing and perform in many different genres, but she comes back to her soulful rock roots on 'Little Wild One,' her fall release that reunites her Grammy All-Star team of Rick Chertoff and Rob Hyman and Eric Bazilian of The Hooters. The team last worked together on Osborne's breakthrough, debut album 'Relish,' which sold five million copies worldwide and yielded the smash hit "One Of Us" as well as scoring six Grammy nominations.
Tender as a peach Someone I would love to teach Started as a joke Just a lazy little poke Woke up one sweet day And I could not run away This will start to bleed No I cannot take this speed I'm in Baby Love (Baby Love) I'm in Baby Love (Baby Love) I'm in Baby Love, yeah It was innocent Wonder where your manners went How was I to know It would never let me go Drag it through the mud Will we ever see some blood You would try to leave Something I cannot conceive I'm in Baby Love (Baby Love) I'm in Baby Love (Baby Love) I'm in Baby Love, yeah Take me in your fist Prove to me that you exist Be as plain as day Watch my body melt away There in black and white Victim of my appetite Make me understand Do you want to be the man? I'm in Baby Love (Baby Love) I'm in Baby Love (Baby Love) I'm in Baby Love, yeah I'm in Baby Love (Baby Love) I'm in Baby Love (Baby Love) I'm in Baby Love, yeah (Baby Love) (Baby Love) I'm in a baby love and a' I'm in a baby love and a' I'm in a baby love again
