The Arcade is an historic building at 31 Circuit Avenue in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts. Built in the early 1870s, it is one of the best preserved buildings on Circuit Ave, and is further locally significant as housing the offices of the Oak Bluffs Land and Wharf Company, which was responsible for much of the early development of the town of Oak Bluffs. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.
History
Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts, located on the northeastern part of the island of Martha's Vineyard, was originally settled as part of Edgartown in the 17th century. In 1835 the Methodist camp known as Wesleyan Grove (now a National Historic Landmark) was established in the area. Development of the area as a summer resort became more formally organized with the establishment of the Oak Bluffs Land and Wharf Company in 1866. The company developed what was then one of the earliest planned communities, guiding the community's growth over the following years.
Oak Bluffs is a town located on the island of Martha's Vineyard in Dukes County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 4,527 at the 2010 United States Census. It is one of the island's principal points of arrival for summer tourists, and is noted for its "gingerbread cottages" and other well-preserved mid to late-nineteenth-century buildings.
History
The first inhabitants of Oak Bluffs were the Wampanoag people, who have lived on Martha's Vineyard (Wampanoag name: Noepe) for approximately 10,000 years. The area that is now Oak Bluffs was called "Ogkeshkuppe," which means "damp/wet thicket or woods."
The area was later settled by Europeans in 1642 and was part of Edgartown until 1880, when it was officially incorporated as Cottage City. The town re-incorporated in 1907 as Oak Bluffs, named because the town was the site of an oak grove along the bluffs overlooking Nantucket Sound. Oak Bluffs was the only one of the six towns on the island to be consciously planned, and the only one developed specifically with tourism in mind.
The Arcade (Kurtis Mckenzie and Jon Mills) are a Grammy-nominated
songwriting and music production duo, based in London. They co-produced and co-composed Iggy Azalea's seven week US #1 single "Fancy" (featuring Charli XCX), which has sold in excess of 7 million copies worldwide to date. The duo produced 'Beg For It' the lead single off Reclassified the reissue of her debut studio album, with the song selling over 1,000,000 copies and certified Platinum in the United States.
The Arcade was a joystick produced by Suzo International on the European market. It distinguished itself from the competition because of its robust construction as the stick had a reinforced inside made of steel and used microswitches for the controls (but not the fire buttons, which used leaf springs).
It was a home version of the joystick used by the professional gaming industry in many video arcade halls across the world.
The Arcade appeared in several variations:
The Arcade Classic, without a fire button
The Arcade, with just one fire button
The Arcade Turbo, with two fire buttons (one on the base and one on the top of the stick, of which only one can be used at a time, selected with a switch underneath the base)
Prof Competition, with two fire buttons (two on the left and righthand side of the base)
Prof Competition 9000, with three fire buttons (two on the lefthand and righthand side of the base and one on top of the stick)
Prof Competition 9000 de luxe, with three fire buttons (two on the lefthand and righthand side of the base and one on top of the stick), and an adjustable rapid-fire switch.
It is the first album to not feature long time lead guitarist Neil Boshart and first to include new guitarist Paul-Marc Rousseau.
Background and recording
Silverstein announced they had signed with Hopeless on November 15, 2010. Vocalist Shane Told said the band have been "huge fans of the label since their inception". Hopeless released the band's Rescue (2011) album in April 2011 and Short Songs (2012) album in February 2012. In mid-to-late August, the band went on the Short Songs, Short Tour; the last tour they would go on before starting to work on a new album. In late September, the band announced that guitarist Neil Boshart hasn't been in the band for the preceding month and was replaced by Paul Marc Rousseau, who has previously worked for the band. This Is How the Wind Shifts was recorded at Sundown Studios in Guelph, Ontario, Canada with producer Jordan Valeriote. Valeriote also engineered and mixed the album. It was mastered by Troy Glessener at Spectre Mastering.

This is how you spend one day on Marthas Vineyard exploring the Island & how to use the bus & save $
Only an hour and a half from Boston Massachusetts we took the ferry from Woods Hole to Vineyard Haven in Martha’s Vineyard. From there we traveled via Marthas Vineyard Bus to Aquinnah and the Gay Head Cliffs and went hiking to the Gay Head Lighthouse. There was a beautiful Island Beach there as well as a few shops and a beautiful ocean overlook. After that we ventured to Edgartown to explore the island harbor and get lunch. Edgartown has amazing beaches and the Edgartown Lighthouse, and the harbor was filled with sail boats. After that we went to Oak Bluffs which took us across the Jaws Bridge and we found ourselves in a bustling town full of restaurants, shops and things to do. This town has the worlds oldest merry-go-round or carousel that is still in operation today. Ending the day with...

Security Camera Captures What No One Was Supposed to See
Closed Circuit TV technology was invented by a German electrical engineer, initially for the purpose of learning about, not people. However, the U.S. government quickly picked up on this hot new wartime technology. And by 1949, they started selling this technology for use in the commercial space. And that’s how we have security cameras! And that is why we have moments like these, forever captured on film... Embarrassing robbery attempts, cats seeing ghosts, even daring rescues - these are the things that make for security footage gold! Buckle up! This is a fun one! :) In this John's Arcade "On the Road" we are going to visit Martha's Vineyard, in Cape Code, MA, and check out a couple of Oak Bluffs arcades. Yes, that Martha's Vineyard.. the one where President Obama vacations. The one where John Belushi is buried. And, yes... the one where Steven Spielberg's JAWS movie was filmed.
In this video I'll show you Edgartown, MA where most of JAWS was filmed. I'll show one of the locations where Roy Scheider crossed the street in the movie. :) Then, we'll head to Oak Bluffs to check out a couple of the arcades there. First, we'll stop at the Flying Horses Carousel and Arcade. The Flying Horses Carousel is the oldest platform carousel and has been designated by the U.S. Department of the Interior as a national landmark. It was built in 1876 by Charles Dare. It was originally on Coney Island in NY before it was moved to Oak Bluffs in 1884. This Carousel is actually a big deal. :) We'll also check out the arcade at the Flying Horses Carousel and Arcade. The arcade? Not so awesome.
After that... We'll walk over to Ryan Family Amusements in Oak Bluffs and check out their modern arcade. Yeah, it has a bunch of redemption games but there is some cool stuff like the new Raw Thrills Galaga Assault game and some cool NAMCO games like Deadstorm Pirates gameplay and also Time Crisis 4 gameplay. They have a few classics like Ms. Pac-Man and Centipede but they both have LCDs. Also in this video we will play some crane arcade games trying to win some Poop emoji. Why? Everyone loves Poop emojis! :)

And in a Jekyll and Hyde moment that dates back a century and a half it is home to the unique Martha's Vineyard Campmeeting Association, a collection of colorful "gingerbread" homes built as part of a Methodist summer retreat and now designated a National Historic Landmark.
It was with the Campmeeting Association that what locals call "OB" got its start. In 1835, when the land was all trees and forest and was a part of Edgartown, it was host to a two-or-three day Methodist religious revival meeting during the summer. The revival at Wesleyan Grove became an annual event, growing in popularity. At first, nine tents were pitched for the attendees. As the revivals got bigger in 1858, 12,000 people attended the Sunday services families started bringing their own tents and building often rough wooden platforms for them (there are examples of floors still supported by trees simply shorn of their limbs.) Finally houses simple affairs, with inside walls that are also the outside walls, with no heat and tiny rooms but with elaborately decorated exteriors in a fantastic Carpenter Gothic style, were constructed on top of the platforms.

The amusement parks are magical places where everyone has fun and has the perfect opportunity to relax and experience high adrenaline. You may like roller coasters. Now let’s take a look at top 20 most horrific amusement park disaster.

One woman died, and 19 other people were severely injured, where some of them almost died in the accident.According to Expoland's operator, a broken wheel axle was responsible for the tragic accident.
Kings Island
The infamous Kings Island is also considered a haunted amusement park. The facility in Mason, Ohio, took four people’s lives in one day, including three visitors and an employee. Visitors have repeatedly seen a ghost girl in a blue dress and other strange visitors from the other side of the world. These stories have become so popular that Sci-Fi TV has dedicated an episode of the documentary series Ghostbusters.
Galaxyland
The colossal three-hole internal roller coaster, Hallucinogen, is also part of one of the creepiest amusement parks with significant accidents. In June 1984, the missing shutters in the last carriage wheel caused the entire train to go off the rails. Three people from this car died.
Coney Island
Built in 1927, the Cyclone experienced one of the worst amusement park rides accidents in the United States. To date, three people have died on this slide. In May 1985, a 29-year-old man died after standing up and hitting his head on a bar. Just three years later, a 26-year-old man died after falling off the Cyclone, and in July 2007, a 53-year-old man broke his neck while riding and died in hospital a few days later.
Oakwood Theme Park
The Oakwood theme park accident occurred in April 2004. When 16-year-old Hayley Williams and her family rode a waterslide, they fell out of a cart and fell from a height of 30 meters, suffering life-altering injuries.
Okpo Land
Okpo Land was located on the outskirts of Okpodong in South Korea and existed for several months. Unfortunately, the facility is on the list of abandoned amusement parks after two accidents.
Action Park
Action Park in Vernon, New Jersey, experienced several accidents for a short period. Six people have died in the history of the park: one died of an electric shock, the second suffered a heart attack, three drowned, and another died after his cart went off the rails.
Six Flags Over Georgia
This attraction was one of the most popular in the entertainment complex Six Flags in Georgia. However, in 2008, 17-year-old Ashy Lyshaw Ferguson died here, lost his hat while riding, and went straight to the rails to get it. At that very moment, the boy was hit by a train that was running on the tracks at 80 km/h.
Magic Harbor
Once a thriving amusement park and a popular holiday destination in South Carolina, Magic Harbor was the place where a horrible amusement park accident struck in 1983. A 13-year-old girl was almost decapitated after standing in the trailer of the Black Witch attraction. Soon after her death, the park was closed entirely.
Pripyat Amusement Park
An amusement park in Pripyat, like the city itself, is often considered one of the scariest amusement parks in the world. The facility was abandoned after the Chernobyl nuclear power accident in 1986.
Terra Mitica
Even though today, the safety measures in the amusement park industry have significantly improved, theme park disasters still continue to happen. In July 2014, an 18-year-old boy from Iceland was thrown out of his seat in Terra Mitica amusement park in Spain. The unlucky guy died in an ambulance shortly after the accident.
Which one of these accidents do you think is the worst? Tell us about other cases that you know of in the comment section below.

Tally and Andrea are at Ryan's Family Amusements, otherwise known as the Martha’s Vineyard Game Room located on Circuit Ave in Oak Bluffs. Offering indoor fun for kids and adults alike with over 75 of the hottest and newest games of skill and chance. There’s something for everyone to play and win prizes!
Ending the day with a Island ocean sunset at Coop de Ville restaurant right on the water overlooking the beautiful bay full of yachts and sail boats. This was the most incredible island we have visited and has plenty of Hikes and shops with countless beautiful views of the island and the blue water surrounding Marthas Vineyard which is close to Boston and Cape Cod...we got some amazing 4K drone shots. If you are in the Boston or New England area you should plan a visit. Thank you for watching our travel vlog

INFO: http://www.SandpiperRealty.com - Oak Bluffs likes to celebrate the summer season it's a classic beach town, filled with fun, music, and arcades. It has bars and shops and instant access to water and beaches. It has a spacious park, up on the bluff, overlooking the water. It has the Flying Horses, an old-fashioned carousel, and pizza carryout spots, tiny walk-in clam bars and a harbor that attracts hundreds of power boats.
