Sun Ra (born Herman Poole Blount, legal name Le Sony'r Ra; May 22, 1914 – May 30, 1993) was an American jazz composer, bandleader, piano and synthesizer player, poet and philosopher known for his experimental music, "cosmic philosophy," prolific output, and theatrical performances. He was inducted into the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame in 1979.
Born in Alabama in 1914, Blount would eventually become involved in the 1940s Chicago jazz scene. He soon abandoned his birth name, taking the name Sun Ra (Ra being the Egyptian God of the Sun) and developing a complex persona and mythology that would make him a pioneer of Afrofuturism: he claimed he was an alien from Saturn, and throughout his life, he consistently denied any ties to his prior identity. His compositions ranged from keyboard solos to big bands of over 30 musicians, and his widely experimental and eclectic music would eventually touch on virtually the entire history of jazz, from ragtime to swing music, from bebop to free jazz. From the mid-1950s to his death, Ra led "The Arkestra", an ensemble with an ever-changing name and flexible line-up (although certain core members remained with the group through its various incarnations, including Marshal Allen, John Gilmore, June Tyson). Its performances often included dancers and musicians dressed in elaborate, futuristic costumes inspired by ancient Egyptian attire and the space age.
17 State Street is a 42-story building in the Financial District of Manhattan. It was designed by Emery Roth and Sons, and it is most noted for its distinct curved facade. The building has been owned by RFR Holding since 1999 when it was acquired from Savannah Teachers Properties Inc. for $120 million.
17 State Street was affected by Hurricane Sandy in October 2012, primarily water damage to electrical equipment in the building's basement. The building was closed for repair for approximately two weeks and was one of the earliest office buildings in the Financial District to be reoccupied after the storm.
In 1988, architecture critic Paul Goldberg, said "this is not a great building, but it is one of the few truly happy intersections of the realities of New York commercial development and serious architectural aspirations".
Later, in 2008, Architecture critic Carter B. Horsley has referred to it as “the city’s most beautiful curved building”, competing with Jean Nouvel’s faceted 100 Eleventh Avenue, Philip Johnson’s Lipstick Building, and pre-war masterpieces such as 1 Wall Street Court (formerly the Cocoa Exchange) and the nearby Delmonico Building.
60 State Street is a modern skyscraper on historic State Street in the Government Center neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. Completed in 1977, it is Boston's 14th tallest building, standing 509 feet (155 m) tall, and housing 38 floors .
Designed by the Chicago-based firm of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and developed by Cabot, Cabot & Forbes, 60 State Street is clad in pink granite to blend with the red brick of Faneuil Hall, City Hall Plaza and other neighboring buildings and spaces. The granite-clad triangular pillars alternate with vertical banks of rectangular floor-to-ceiling windows in a pattern similar to that of Eero Saarinen's black granite-faced CBS Building, a.k.a. "Black Rock," in New York City.
Also like Black Rock, 60 State Street is surrounded by a pedestrian plaza. Only this time the plaza is raised rather than sunken and is accessible at street level from State Street and by two flights of stairs from Faneuil Hall Marketplace.
Unlike Black Rock's rectangular solid composition, 60 State Street was given eleven sides and a two-part scheme so that it has the appearance of side-by-side octagonal tubes from a distance. The chamfered corner pillars are similarly octagonal. This theme recalls Boston's historic architectural vernacular of chamfered bay windows on Beacon Hill and in the Back Bay.
75 State Street is a high-rise building located in the Financial District, Boston, Massachusetts. The design architect was Gund Architects of Boston, in association with Skidmore, Owings and Merrill. The 31-story building rises to a height of 118.9 metres (390 ft), and has a floor area of 93,088 square metres (1,001,990 sq ft).
The building is currently managed by Brookfield Properties.

Spaceee is the placeee... "Avant-garde jazz musician Sun Ra stars in the movie version of his concept album Space is the Place. Not following a linear plot line, this experimental film is a bizarre combination of social commentary, blaxploitation, science fiction, and concert performance. The opening scene is set in an intergalactic forest, with Sun Ra introducing his plan to use music as salvation for the black community. Back on Earth, he wears a disguise as Sunny Ray, a piano player in a 1940s Chicago strip club who causes an explosion with his sounds. Switching to a scene in a desert, he plays a card game called 'The End of the World,' with the Overseer (Ray Johnson), who is dressed in white and drives a white Cadillac. Sun Ra pulls out a spaceship card and the Arkestra play the song ...
Sun Ra was a big-band innovator, a pioneer of recording and playing with electronics, a poet, a cosmic philosopher, a bandleader and a keyboard innovator who claimed to be from Saturn. Herman Poole Blount would have turned 100 in 2014 had he not left us more than 20 years ago. But his spirit lives on, and so does his long-running band. On Halloween 2014, the Sun Ra Arkestra — complete with costumes inspired by Egyptian symbolism and science fiction — performed a rousing, out-of-this-world Tiny Desk Concert. The band was led by 91-year-old alto saxophonist Marshall Allen, who's been with the Arkestra since the early 1950s. All these years later, no one makes soul-stirring, spaced-out jazz quite like the Arkestra. SET LIST Along Came Ra/Zoom 0:23 Queer Notions 2:23 Angels And Demons At Pla...

All ten of the world’s most populated countries including China, India, Russia and the U.S. have leaders, or a leader-elect, over the age of 70. When they face off in the 2024 election, President Joe Biden and Donald Trump will be the oldest candidates in U.S. history, again. So why are world politicians older than ever? Would you go outside?
Asked you to leave
I had enough of this ruckus
I wanna sleep
You say you're feeling lonely
I got to agree
I feel it coming slowly, slowly to me
Here comes, here comes the night train
And here comes, here comes the night train
Making a point in conversations
That I'll never hold
Protect myself from rumors
That I'll never be told
Choking on beauty
I usually don't even see
I'm living life through someone else
Looking at me
Here comes, here comes the night train
And here comes, here comes the night train
And here comes, here comes the night train
Now, all the evil thoughts I had
And all the harm I ever did
Stand right before me, eyes wide open
Where were they hidden?
I'm gonna rip it up
Bring it down, send it to hell
I hope somebody teach me something new
Somebody as guilty as me can break this spell
Here comes, here comes the night train
(Make it stop, oh, I can't make it stop)
Here comes, here comes the night train
(Make it stop, oh, I can't make it stop)
Here comes, here comes the night train
(Make it stop, oh, I can't make it stop, it's on again)
Get up, put up, open your eyes
Let the black blooded vein
Come to your brain
Angels 'round here don't sing
They have a curse upon me
(Make it stop, oh, I can't make it stop, it's on again)
Get up, put up, open your eyes
Let the black blooded vein
Come to your brain
Angels 'round here don't sing
They have a curse upon me
(Make it stop, oh, I can't make it stop, it's on again)
Get up, put up, open your eyes
Let the black blooded vein
Come to your brain
Angels 'round here don't sing
They have a curse upon me
(Just make it stop, oh, I can't make it stop, it's on again)
Get up, put up, open your eyes
Let the black blooded vein
Come to your brain
Angels 'round here don't sing
They have a curse upon me
(Make it stop, oh, I can't make it stop, it's on again)
The shame, the lovers
The tricks, the blessings
The rebound, the future is used
It feels like you used it up
I look at you, I pity you
I dream of you, what are you?
Drop a name, leave it there
Bruise a heart, leave it there
Pay the entrance, leave it there
Get some style, cut your hair
Shouldn't be this, shouldn't be that
Take the heat, take a free kick, man
Try to get a grip on these times
'Cause the harder that I chase
The harder you're running
You don't have to be
