Sassanian Persian Empire (امپراتوری ساسانی Sassanid Empire) - Ardashir I
In this first episode of the new Sassanian(Sassanid) Empire series we take a look at the rise of its first ruler, Ardashir I. In 224 he would overthrow the Parthian Empire's Artabanus IV and his Sassanid (Sasanian/Sasanid) Dynasty would rule for 430 years. They considered themselves linked to the Achaemenid legacy and after displacing the Parthians would expand on that legacy. It is one of the most fascinating periods in the history of the region.

The ENTIRE History of The Persian Empire | Documentary
Persia, now called Iran, is a fascinating country. It has been a major power since before the foundation of Rome and even since the dawn of civilization. And it still shapes today the politics of the Middle East and Eurasia.
Right in the middle between Europe and Asia, it has been a major center of trade, learning, and cultural exchanges.
It is also a remarkably durable center of power, always re-emerging no matter how many times it got invaded or conquered.
This documentary will delve deep into where Persia comes from, and what made it so successful and unique among the world's great civilizations.

This conflict was the very last that happened between these two empires, as shortly after it ended, Sasanians were conquered by the Caliphate. The sheer devastation and meaninglessness of this war allowed it to be a turning point in the human history.
