Boh Runga1969/1970 (age45–46) is a New Zealand recording artist and was the lead singer and guitarist in New Zealand rock band Stellar. Boh is the older sister of Bic Runga and Pearl Runga who are also musicians.
Biography
Boh grew up in Christchurch, New Zealand. She is the daughter of Joseph Runga, a Maori ex-serviceman and Sophia Tang, a Chinese singer who abandoned her own music career in Malaysia to join Joseph in his home country. Joseph was a self-taught pianist and died in 2005 from a heart attack.
Boh left Christchurch for Auckland to form Stellar in the late 1990s. After signing with Sony Music, Stellar released their 1999 debut album Mix and quickly became Sony's biggest selling New Zealand band as the album went multi-platinum. Stellar also secured eight Tui Awards for Mix and its 2001 follow up Magic Line.
After the release of 'Magic Line' and the subsequent touring of New Zealand, Australia and Europe, Boh headed to Los Angeles in 2003 to hone her skills as a songwriter at the invitation of her LA-based music publishers, Chrysalis. She now lives in Los Angeles. Since 2003, she has been married to Campbell Smith, who is the manager for her sister Bic and chief executive of the Recording Industry Association of New Zealand.
Right Here is the debut solo album of New Zealand singer/songwriter Boh Runga, released in May, 2009. Right Here was recorded in Marshall Altman's Hollywood studio and includes the single "Evelyn".
The album gained positive reviews in New Zealand, the New Zealand Herald rated the album 4 out of 5 stars, noting “its unashamed blockbuster urges and tunepower make it all the more irresistible” and Real Groove called it “an assured collection of streamlined tunes that’s guaranteed to surf the airwaves.”
"Right Here" is a song recorded by Canadian singer Justin Bieber for his third studio album Believe (2012). Canadian entertainer Drake appears as the featured artist. It was written by Bieber, Drake, Eric Bellinger, and Chauncey Hollis, who produced the track. A lyric video was posted onto Bieber's YouTube channel in February 2013.
Lyric video
A lyric video for the song was uploaded on Bieber's official VEVO account on February 26, 2013.
"Right Here (Departed)" is a song by American recording artist Brandy Norwood. It was written by Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins and The Writing Camp members Evan "Kidd" Bogart, Victoria Horn, Erika Nuri, and David "DQ" Quiñones and produced by Jerkins for her fifth studio album Human (2008). Not recorded until late into the production of the album, it set much of the tone for the final Human track listing as it was the first out of several new songs Norwood and Jerkins recorded together following his absence on her previous album Afrodisiac (2004). Its lyrics chronicle a woman's talks about mutual support with loved ones.
Picked as the album's leading single and Norwood's first release with Epic Records following her departure from the Atlantic label in 2005, the song premiered on her official webpage on August 13, 2008. Her first release in four years, it was officially serviced to US radio on August 25, 2008 prior to receiving a major release between September 2008 and March 2009 on most international territories. While "Right Here (Departed)" became a moderate hit in the US, where it reached number 34 on the Billboard Hot 100, the track emerged as her highest-charting single in years, reaching the top ten of the French Singles Chart, top twenty on the Japan Hot 100, and the top of Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play chart.
