Nova Scotia (Latin for "New Scotland", pronounced in English as /ˌnoʊvəˈskoʊʃə/) (French: Nouvelle-Écosse; Scottish Gaelic:Alba Nuadh; Scots:New Alba) is one of Canada's three Maritime provinces, and one of the four provinces which form Atlantic Canada. Its provincial capital is Halifax. Nova Scotia is the second-smallest province in Canada, with an area of 55,284 square kilometres (21,300sqmi), including Cape Breton and another 3,800 coastal islands. As of 2011, the population was 921,727, making Nova Scotia the second-most-densely populated province in Canada.
Nova Scotia is the third album by Cousteau, released in 2005 on the Endeavour record label. It was subsequently released in the U.S. under the band name 'Moreau' due to legal reasons on the One Little Indian label with two additional tracks (*). The US release also featured new artwork.
Davey Ray Moor had previously left the band leaving the main song writing duties to be taken over by lead singer Liam McKahey. "We thought it was the end and we were all feeling really emotional," says McKahey of Moor's departure. "But after a few pints, we'd decided to carry on and do it (the songwriting) ourselves. It was sink or swim, and we decided to swim."
Raise the Dead is the fourth studio album by rock band Phantom Planet. It was released on April 15, 2008. The CD includes reworked versions of "Leader" and "Geronimo", both of which appeared on the Limited Edition Tour EP, as well as a reworked version of "Do the Panic", which originally appeared on the band's 'bootleg' fanclub CD Phantom Planet: Negatives.
Early on in the recording process Phantom Planet's contract with Epic Records expired, which left them searching for a new record label. Soon after this, they signed to Fueled by Ramen, which produces bands such as Fall Out Boy, Paramore, Panic at the Disco, The Hush Sound and The Academy Is....
On January 20, 2008, Phantom Planet posted a bulletin on their Myspace page to announce that the official release date would be April 15, 2008. Fueled By Ramen re-released a teaser trailer and stated that the first single from the album will be a reworking of "Do the Panic".
In an interview with RaggedMag, vocalist Alex Greenwald explained that "all bands are kind of their own cult, you know, but we want to take it to a new level. We really like the show Lost, and even though it's totally fiction, there's this air of mystery that's lacking in a lot entertainment these days. I really like mystery in things, and what a little bit of enigma brings out of people and their imaginations...a band is about community, and within itself it is a brotherhood; it's companionship. But a band can't be anything without the people to love it. Our goal will be to recruit and befriend as many people as possible with our message."
The Canadian wine industry also vinifies imported grapes and juice. These products are labeled Cellared in Canada
and are not required to conform to the strict Vintners Quality Alliance content regulations.
Icewine, which can be produced reliably in most Canadian wine regions, especially the Okanagan Valley, is the most recognized product on an international basis. Canada produced 75.9 million litres of wine in 2002 (0.3% of world production).
Your Nova Scotia adventure awaits. Experience our stunning coastlines, whale watching, , national parks, charming seaside towns and bustling city nights.

BEST IN TRAVEL 2023: NOVA SCOTIA
Taking a road trip around Nova Scotia is a journey you will never forget. Nova Scotia may be one of Canada's smallest provinces, but it's big on charm. Local surfer and entrepreneur Dean Petty shows us why he's obsessed with his island province. In between panoramic motorcycle rides to surprisingly exhilarating mudslides, Dean takes us to the best places to eat and to hang so you can see why this place is one of the BEST places to journey this year. Trust us — you'll be obsessed with Nova Scotia, too.
Featuring: Dean Petty
Executive Producer: Annie Greenberg
Producer: Matt Paco

Stompin' Tom Connors - My Nova Scotia Home (Hank Snow)
For those here missing their Nova Scotia home, this is my favorite cover of Hank's song. In 1972 Stompin' Tom first did this as a taster compilation album on the Cynda label to promote the Boot label 5 LP second box set. Sing or read along with his lyrics I tried my best to decipher. As you will see it was on several different Boot labels also the common Cynda label.
My Nova Scotia Home
(Hank Snow)
There's a place I'll always cherish, 'neath the blue Atlantic sky
Where the shores down in Cape Breton bid the golden sun to rise
And the fragrance of the apple blossoms sprays the dew-kissed morn
Back in dear old Nova Scotia, the place where I was born
The Scotian and the Ocean Limited, and the Maritime Express
Their mighty engines throbbing, make their way towards the west

Nova Scotia Album Flip Through | Simple Stories Simple Vintage Seas
I created this album using a 49 and Market album for my base and I added in multiple Heartfelt Creation Flipfold inserts.
I also used a large number of Close To My Heart Flip Flaps which you can find here
https://heathersteeves.closetomyheart.ca/retail/search.aspx?searchvalue=Flip+flap
I used a lot of the Simple Stories Vintage Seas collection. I created two albums with all of the products. I lost track of how much but I believe I had two full 6x8 paper pads, a full 12x12 paper pack, 2 coordinating cardstock packs and a few loose 12x12 papers. Of course I used all the coordinating embellishments too.

Ian & Sylvia - Nova Scotia Farewell (Lyrics) [HD]
Ian & Sylvia sing 'Nova Scotia Farewell' from their 1964 Vanguard album 'Northern Journey'. Images in the video after the first two general ones of leaves and bird are of Nova Scotia. For this song Ian is on lead guitar and Monte Dunn is on second guitar with Russ Savakus on bass. The lyrics are in the video and below with comments about the song and singers.
Note: Ian & Sylvia made seven Vanguard studio albums with 87 songs from 1962 to 1968. This song is the sixth track on their third album. The next track is 'Some Day Soon'.

The Scotian and the Ocean Limited, and the Maritime Express
Their mighty engines throbbing, make their way towards the west
And the sturdy fishin' schooners, sways so laz'ly to and fro'
Nova Scotia is my sanctuary, and I love it so
Out across this great Dominion, I have traveled far and wide
Where the shores out in Vancouver, kiss the blue Pacific tide
I have crossed the snow-capped Rockies, saw the wheat fields' golden blaze
Headed back to Nova Scotia, where this ocean boy was raised
Where the pretty robin red breast, seeks its' loved ones in the trees
And the French di'lect in old Quebec, keeps callin' after me
It seems to say, be on your way, there's a welcome at the door
Where the kinfolks are a-waiting on that gay Atlantic shore
Down through beautiful New Brunswick and across to P.E.I.
To the rock-bound coasts of Newfoundland, I'll love them till I die
But if God came here on Earth to find a place he could rest
I'd take him to my Nova Scotia home, the place that I love best
And the sturdy fishin' schooners, sways so laz'ly to and fro'
Nova Scotia is my sanctuary, and I love it so
Out across this great Dominion, I have traveled far and wide

I used a lot of the Simple Stories Vintage Seas collection. I created two albums with all of the products. I lost track of how much but I believe I had two full 6x8 paper pads, a full 12x12 paper pack, 2 coordinating cardstock packs and a few loose 12x12 papers. Of course I used all the coordinating embellishments too.

Nova Scotia Farewell (Singers: Ian & Sylvia)
The sun was setting in the west
The birds were singing on every tree
All nature seemed inclined for to rest
But still there was no rest for me
Farewell to Nova Scotia, the sea-bound coast
Let your mountains dark and dreary be
For when I'm far away on the briny ocean tossed
Will you ever heave a sigh and a wish for me?
I grieve to leave my native land
I grieve to leave my comrades all
And my aged parents who I've always held so dear
And the bonnie, bonnie lass that I do adore
Farewell to Nova Scotia, the sea-bound coast
Let your mountains dark and dreary be
For when I am far away on the briny ocean tossed
Will you ever heave a sigh and a wish for me?
The drums do beat and the wars do alarm
The captain calls, we must obey
So farewell, farewell to Nova Scotia's charms
For it's early in the morning I am far, far away
Farewell to Nova Scotia, the sea-bound coast
Let your mountains dark and dreary be
For when I am far away on the briny ocean tossed
Will you ever heave a sigh and a wish for me?
I have three brothers and they are at rest
Their arms are folded on their breast
But a poor simple sailor just like me
Must be tossed and driven on the dark blue sea.
Farewell to Nova Scotia, the sea-bound coast
Let your mountains dark and dreary be
For when I am far away on the briny ocean tossed
Will you ever heave a sigh and a wish for me?
Songwriter: Traditional song (Arranged by Ian & Sylvia)
[Lyrics from genius.com]
Album Personnel: Ian Tyson - vocals, 6- and 12-string guitar, Sylvia Fricker - vocals, autoharp, John Herald - guitar, Monte Dunn - mandolin, guitar, Eric Weissberg - bass, Russ Savakus - bass.
Album liner notes by Maynard Solomon:
Nova Scotia Farewell: Probably based on an old sailor's chanty, this song used to be sung in the grammar schools of Nova Scotia. But it is much more than a Canadian "Life on the Ocean Wave" ditty. In strong simple language it tells of a lone sailor torn from his beloved native land and family by the fortunes of war:
"I have three brothers and they are at rest
Their arms are folded on their breast
But a poor simple sailor just like me
Must be tossed and driven on the dark blue sea."
Wikipedia states:
Ian & Sylvia were a Canadian folk and country music duo which consisted of Ian and Sylvia Tyson, née Fricker. They began performing together in 1959, married in 1964, and divorced and stopped performing together in 1975. Ian Tyson, CM, AOE was born in Victoria, British Columbia, in 1933. In his teens, he decided upon a career as a rodeo rider. Recovering from injuries sustained from a fall during the mid-1950s, he started learning guitar. In the late 1950s, he relocated to Toronto, aspiring to a career as a commercial artist. He also started playing clubs and coffeehouses in Toronto. By 1959 he was performing music as a full-time occupation. Sylvia Tyson, née Fricker, CM, was born in Chatham, Ontario, in 1940. While still in her teens, she started frequenting the folk clubs of Toronto.
The two started performing together in Toronto in 1959. By 1962, they were living in New York City, where they caught the attention of manager Albert Grossman, who managed Peter, Paul and Mary and would soon become Bob Dylan's manager. Grossman secured them a contract with Vanguard Records and they released their first album late in the year.

Moment Indian student who thought he was meeting 14-year-old girl after grooming her breaks down and pleads to be freed after being snared by paedophile hunters
This is the moment a student who thought he was meeting 14-year-old girl for sex breaks down and pleads to be freed after being snared by paedophile hunters.
Minesh Patel was confronted by undercover group Guardians of the North before he offered to work for them in a bizarre bid to persuade them to let him go.
The 27-year-old had been engaging in sexual chat on WhatsApp with whom he believed to be a child.
Unbeknown to him, the youngster did not exist and he was actually in communication with paedophile hunters, who had disguised themselves as the underage girl.
Patel, of Harrow, London, was arrested shortly afterwards and appeared at Newcastle Crown Court yesterday.
He pleaded guilty to attempting to cause or incite a child into sexual activity and one count of attempted grooming.
Patel was sentenced to 28 months imprisonment, made subject to a sexual harm prevention order for ten years and must sign the sex offender's list.
Patel had been on his way to meet who he thought was the child at Gateshead Metro Station but was confronted en route at the nearby interchange.
The group filmed Patel's reaction as he repeatedly says 'please sir', tells them he has a 'good past' in his native India and that he is 'new' to this country as a student.
But one hunter replies: 'Your studies are at end now, you will not be allowed to study criminology. Your studies will be terminated.'
Appearing to be at his wits end, Patel pleads: 'I can work for you for free.'
The group member replies: 'No, you cannot work for us for free. Not at all.'
Another one adds: 'I can't believe you just said that.'
Prosecutor Tom Mitchell said: 'Kay Bell is a member of that group and set up a decoy profile in the name Laurie purporting to be a 14-year-old girl.
'On the 4th of February 2020 she was contacted by the defendant with the username rahulpatel 26 on the Meet 4 U internet site.
'Shortly thereafter at three minutes past seven pm he sent her a WhatsApp message followed immediately by a message asking for photos.
At 21 minutes past seven he was talking about kissing and within two minutes was talking about sex. He said that he was in Middlesbrough and sent a general location indicator to that effect.
'On the 9th of February he asked to meet the girl and if she liked sex, saying that it was good for the health.'
Mr Mitchell added that Patel went on to ask about her clothing and underwear, and was persistent in asking for pictures which were refused.
He also asked for money to be able to take a bus to her address in Chester-le-Street, County Durham but was told she had none because she was 14.
Mr Mitchell added: 'Eventually they made an 'agreement' to meet at Gateshead Metro station on the 19th of February last year.
'He arrived by bus and was recognised by the Guardians of the North members from the photo he had sent to the decoy.'
The court heard Patel initially denied meeting an underage girl for sex but then did make admissions, and said: 'I'm sorry, I will not do it again let me go.'
Tony Cornberg, mitigating, suggested to the court that the best course of action would be to suspend any custodial sentence, or issue a community order to offer the best chance of rehabilitation, and that the offending was born out of Patel being isolated.
Mr Cornberg said: 'Mr Patel is clearly someone of ability and someone who is well aware that he may have spoiled his chances of a career in this country.
'He is supported by three family members in court. They appear to strike a balance between being supportive but clearly not condoning in any way what he did.'
However, Judge Robert Adams sentenced Patel to 28 months imprisonment.
The Judge told him: 'You are clearly intelligent and of some ability and in the UK on a student visa doing a postgraduate programme

[Vinyl/Lyrics/16-Images/WAV]
