The President of the Government of Spain (Spanish:Presidente del Gobierno), formally known by English-speaking nations and formally translated by the European Commission Directorate-General in English as Prime Minister is the head of Government of Spain. The current office is established under the Constitution of 1978.
The King of Spain nominates a candidate for the presidency who stands before the Congress of Deputies of Spain, the lower house of the Cortes Generales (parliament), for a vote of confidence in a process known as a parliamentarian investiture, effectively an indirect election of the head of government by the elected Congress of Deputies. In practice, the Prime Minister is almost always the leader of the largest party in the Congress. Since current constitutional practice in Spain calls for the King to act on the advice of his ministers, the Prime Minister is effectively the country's chief executive.
The action of the series is set in present day Poland. The story begins when Prime Minister and legendary opposition leader during Communist ruleHenryk Nowasz of "Polish Centre Bloc" (Polski Blok Centrum) was suspected for being an agent of former Communist security services. Nowasz decided to resign in order to prevent of government downfall and proposed non-partisan 37-year-old Professor of Economy and Political Sciences Konstanty Turski, his friend and an unofficial advisor, to became a caretaker until he would prove his innocence. Turski was narrowly confirmed by the Sejm, with silent opposition of coalition party, "Right-wing for Poland" (Prawica dla Polski), whose leader, Jan Matajewicz, soon became his archenemy, with support of his party colleague, PresidentJuliusz Szczęsny and both far-right and left-wing opposition parties. Turski, however, soon proved to be an effective (but idealistic and unconventional) leader, but his administration is involved with serious odds with other politicians. The key ally of Matajewicz is deputy Sejm MarshalKrystyna Sochaczewska, a longtime Nowasz's friend from opposition and his successor as party leader.
Lebanon is a historic plantation house located near Dunn, Harnett County, North Carolina. It was built about 1824, and is a two-story, three bay, Greek Revival style frame dwelling with a one-story wing. It is sheathed in weatherboard and rests on a brick foundation. The front facade features a three bay, two-tier porch. During the American Civil War, the Battle of Averasboro (March 16, 1865) occurred in the immediate vicinity of plantation house and it was used as a hospital.
Lebanon is among the oldest sites of wine production in the world. The Israelite prophet Hosea (780–725 BC) is said to have urged his followers to return to Yahweh so that "they will blossom as the vine, [and] their fragrance will be like the wine of Lebanon". The Phoenicians of its coastal strip were instrumental in spreading wine and viticulture throughout the Mediterranean in ancient times. Despite the many conflicts of the region, the country has an annual production of about 600,000 cases of wine. Recently the sector has been witnessing an unprecedented growth. The number of wineries went from 5 in 1998 to over 30 nowadays.
History
Vitis vinifera evidence from ancient Rome shows wine was cultivated and then domesticated in Lebanon, at least two thousand years before Alexander the Great. While some people believe it arrived from the South Caucasus via Mesopotamia or the Black Sea trade routes there is no record to support such a claim. Vines grew readily in the land of Canaan, the coastal strip of today's Lebanon, and the wines of Byblos (Gubla, Gebal, Jubail, Jbeil) were exported to Egypt during the Old Kingdom (2686 BC–2134 BC). The wines of Tyre and Sidon were famous throughout the ancient Mediterranean, although not all the cargoes reached their destination; Robert Ballard of Titanic fame found the wrecks of two Phoenician ships from 750 BC, whose cargo of wine was still intact. As the first great traders of wine ('Cherem'), the Phoenicians seem to have protected it from oxidation with a layer of olive oil, followed by a seal of pinewood and resin - this may well be the origin of the Greek taste for retsina. The philosophers Zeno of Citium and Chrysippus of Soli are both said to have enjoyed their wine, in fact the latter died from overindulgence.
Lebanon is a New Jersey Transit railroad station on the Raritan Valley Line in Lebanon, New Jersey. There is a station building on the north side of the tracks. The southern track is no longer in use and the stop has limited weekday service and no weekend service. The station was bought by the town in 1978, it has been recently refurbished.

Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab announced on Monday his formal resignation, and that of his government following protests and demands for change after the deadly explosion in Port of Beirut last week, saying his government will follow the will of the people for real change and transparency.
Diab, in a televised speech, said the detonation of highly-explosive material warehoused in the port area of the capital for the last seven years was "the result of endemic corruption".
"Today we follow the will of the people in their demand to hold accountable those responsible for the disaster that has been in hiding for seven years, and their desire for real change," he said.
"In the face of this reality ... I am announcing today the resignation of this government."
The cabinet had already been under pressure to step down over the August 4 explosion that killed 163 people, wounded some 6,000 and left around 300,000 without habitable housing.
Several ministers had already resigned over the weekend.

Lebanon's Prime Minister Saad Hariri has announced that he's resigning after almost two weeks of anti-government protests.
Huge demonstrations have taken place in every major city in response to austerity measures, including a new tax on WhatsApp calls.
But the real issue has been inequality and the inability of successive governments to deliver basic services, such as food and fuel.
Sky's Middle East correspondent Mark Stone reports on the uncertainty now facing the country.

15 years after a massive bombing in Beirut killed Lebanon’s former prime minister Rafik Hariri, a man has been found guilty of the assassination by a special UN-backed court.
Mr Hariri was Lebanon's most prominent Sunni Muslim politician. He had close ties with the United States and with Sunni Gulf Arab states, and was seen as a threat to Iranian and Syrian influence in Lebanon.
At the end of an investigation and trial that lasted 15 years, Salim Ayyash was found guilty of assassinating Hariri.
His three co-defendants were acquitted. All are members of the Iranian-backed Shia militant group Hezbollah -- and their whereabouts are unknown

Mohammad Najib Azmi Mikati, President of the Council of Ministers of the Lebanese Republic, addresses the general debate of the 77th Session of the General Assembly of the UN (New York, 20 - 26 September 2022).
The UN General Assembly (UNGA) is the main policy-making organ of the Organization. Comprising all Member States, it provides a unique forum for multilateral discussion of the full spectrum of international issues covered by the Charter of the United Nations. Each of the 193 Member States of the United Nations has an equal vote.
The United Nations is an international organization founded in 1945. Currently made up of 193 Member States, the UN and its work are guided by the purposes and principles contained in its founding Charter.
The UN has evolved over the years to keep pace with a rapidly changing world.
But one thing has stayed the same: it remains the one place on Earth where all the world’s nations can gather together, discuss common problems, and find shared solutions that benefit all of humanity.

Taoiseach Simon Harris spoke by phone this afternoon with PrimeMinisterNajib Mikati of Lebanon... He thanked the Prime Minister for helping to facilitate the recent rotation of Irish soldiers serving on the mission.
