Professional wrestling has accrued a considerable nomenclature through its long existence. Much of it stems from the industry's origins in the days of carnivals and circuses, and the slang itself is often referred to as "carny talk." In the past, wrestlers used such terms in the presence of fans so as not to reveal the worked nature of the business. In recent years, widespread discussion on the Internet has popularized these terms. Many of the terms refer to the financial aspects of pro wrestling in addition to performance-related terms.
The Alliance was a left-wing political party in New Zealand. It was formed in 1991, and was influential in the 1990s, but has since declined and has no representation in Parliament. It suffered a major setback after Jim Anderton, the party's leader, left the party in 2002, taking several of the party's MPs. After the remaining MPs lost their seats in the 2002 election, some commentators predicted the demise of the party. The Alliance stood candidates in the 2005 election but won less than 1% of the party vote. The Alliance contested Auckland City Council elections under the City Vision banner, in concert with the New Zealand Labour Party and Green Party. The Alliance ran 15 electorate candidates and a total of 30 candidates on the party list in the 2008 election, increasing its party vote marginally from 2005.

Parliamentary hearings perverted by political groups - 'U Talking to Me?' debate
How did the centre-right and centre-left coalition in the European Parliament come to an agreement on the new team of European commissioners?
That was the topic of our weekly show “U Talking to Me?,” with guests Kathleen Van Brempt, a member of the Socialists & Democrats (S&D) and Claude Turmes, of the Greens.
During the debate, Van Brempt denied that there had been any political deal behind the rejection of the Slovenia’s Alenka Bratusek, the only liberal candidate to be rejected.
For Turmes, it was clear that Bratusek’s rejection was agreed upon beforehand, and in the end gave S&D one more candidate in the running.

Slovenia's coalition government has won an important confidence vote after a 19-hour debate in parliament on Friday over its efforts to avert an international bailout.
The 'Yes' vote in parliament, by 50 to 31, shores up political backing for Prime Minister Alenka Bratusek's disparate alliance as the republic struggles with its biggest crisis since it broke away from Yugoslavia 22 years ago.
