Paul Parlette Orndorff, Jr. (born October 29, 1949) is an American former professional wrestler, best known for his appearances with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW) as "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff. Orndorff became a star in the 1980s WWF wrestling boom. Orndorff's feud with Hulk Hogan in 1985-1986 is a highlight of his career. Orndorff departed the WWF for WCW in early 1988. After retiring, Orndorff worked as a professional wrestling trainer. In 2011, Orndorff was diagnosed with cancer, but went through treatment and was declared cancer free by the end of 2011.
Orndorff started wrestling in 1976 after playing for one year in the World Football League and initially worked for a number of wrestling promotions in the southern states of the United States such as Mid-Southern Wrestling, Southeast Championship Wrestling, Mid-South Wrestling and Georgia Championship Wrestling. In 1983 he made his debut for the WWF, portraying a narcissistic bad guy and was part of the main event of the first ever WrestleMania show. He would later team up with WWF's top name, Hulk Hogan, leading to a storyline where Orndorff turned on Hogan and the two had a high profile feud. Orndorff suffered an arm injury during the time and retired for a number of years before returning in 1990, working primarily for WCW. In WCW he won several titles including the WCW World Television Championship as well as the WCW World Tag Team Championship with Paul Roma (as a team called Pretty Wonderful). His recurring arm issues due to the 1988 injury led Orndorff to retire in 2000. He was inducted into the WWF (now WWE) Hall of Fame in 2005 and the National Wrestling AllianceHall of Fame in 2009.
Robert Keith "Bob" Orton Jr. (born November 10, 1950), better known by the ring name"Cowboy" Bob Orton, is a professional wrestler. He is the son of professional wrestler Bob Sr., the brother of professional wrestler Barry O, and the father of professional wrestler Randy Orton. He is best known for his time in the WWF (World Wrestling Federation, now WWE). He has also wrestled for several promotions in the United States, Japan, and other countries.
Orton trained with Hiro Matsuda, after dropping out of college and at the age of 22, Orton made his debut in the promotion Championship Wrestling from Florida in 1972 with the ring name of Young Mr Wrestling wrestling in instances with his father Bob Orton Sr. They won the tag team title from the promotion, Orton was one of the first wrestlers to use the Superplex as his final movement. Orton in his early days in wrestling, he used a gimmick, of a masked wrestler known as The Invader. He often used this gimmick, until 1976.
Robert Dale "Bob" Orton (July 21, 1929 – July 16, 2006) was an American professional wrestler. The patriarch of the Orton wrestling family, his two sons (Bob Jr. and Barry) and grandson (Randy) have all wrestled professionally. To distinguish between him and his son, he is also known as Bob Orton Sr.
Career
Orton was a two-time holder of the Florida version of the NWA World Tag Team Championship with partner Eddie Graham in 1966. He also innovated the pedigree as he captured several other titles in various NWA territories with it, including the NWA Southern Heavyweight title and the Florida Tag Team title (with Bob Jr.) in Florida Championship Wrestling and the NWA United States Heavyweight title in Central States Wrestling. He also competed in the American Wrestling Association, where he would also gain championship success. In 1961, Orton competed for the then NWA Capitol Wrestling Federation (now WWE) teaming with Nature Boy Buddy Rogers.
Orton eventually left Capitol Wrestling Corporation, by competing in other NWA territories. In 1968, Orton returned to Capitol Wrestling Corporation renamed as World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF, now WWE), often using the ring name Rocky Fitzpatrick. In September 1968, as Cowboy Rocky Fitzpatrick, he was number one challenger to WWWF champion Bruno Sammartino, losing to Bruno at Madison Square Garden. He fought Sammartino in other northeastern cities as well. He retired in July 2000 and spent the last years of his life living in Las Vegas, Nevada.

His son Travis Orndorff announced his father's passing on social media. He stated that the majority of his fans will probably remember him for his physique and intensity but he emphasized that what he would miss the most about his dad was his heart.
Travis released the original video footage and informed Canadian wrestling promoter and interviewer Devon Nicholson who operates The Hannibal TV channel of his father's condition. Orndorff was suffering from late-stage dementia. He was diagnosed with cancer in 2011 but overcame it and went into remission.
Orndorff retired from wrestling after sustaining a neck injury in 2000 at the Fall Brawl WWE event, but he still managed to wrestle in one last match in 2017 at the age of 67. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 and appeared on WWE television several times in 2014.

The Tragic Death of Paul Orndorff, WWE's Mr. Wonderful

A great match from the Philadelphia Spectrum, May 1985. This was only a little over a month since Mr. Wonderful turned face, so he was white hot with the Philly crowd. Pretty funny slip-up by Orton at 2:09 when he miscalculates a jump to the turnbuckle and ends up falling out of the ring.

Bob & Gene are back against their better judgement for more UWF ACTION!! We finally get the long awaited and much anticipated debut of the AWA World Champion, 'The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko as he takes on the BULLDOZER!! John Tolos shows he not only inspired DDP's 'Diamond Cutter' sign back in 1990, but this week he's inspiring ANOTHER future legend! "Cowboy" Bob Orton does the UNTHINKABLE! (and no not just another crappy superplex!) There's going to be a lotta BUZZ about this incident! The main event features the UWF's FIRST EVER tag team match as "Wildman" Jack Armstrong (who?) teams up with the "Unpredictable" Cactus Jack to take on "Chief" Jay Strongbow ("Jr.") and the man with the "tremendous armdrag" David Sammartino!
