Maurice Ernest Gibb, CBE (22 December 1949 – 12 January 2003) was a British singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer who achieved fame as a member of the group Bee Gees. Although his brothers Barry and Robin Gibb were the group's main lead singers, most of their albums included at least one or two Maurice Gibb compositions, including "Lay It on Me", "Country Woman" and "On Time". The Bee Gees were one of the most successful rock-pop groups ever. Gibb's role in the group focused on melody and arrangements, providing backing vocal harmony and playing a variety of instruments.
Born on the Isle of Man, Gibb started his music career in 1955 in Manchester, England, joining the skiffle-rock and roll group the Rattlesnakes which later evolved into the Bee Gees in 1958 when they moved to Australia. They returned to England, where they achieved worldwide fame. In 2002, the Bee Gees were appointed as CBEs for their "contribution to music". Following his death in 2003, Gibb's son collected his award at Buckingham Palace in 2004.
Never Say Never Again is a 1983 spy film based on the James Bond novel Thunderball, which was previously adapted in 1965 under that name. Unlike the majority of Bond films, Never Say Never Again was not produced by Eon Productions, but by an independent production company, one of whose members was Kevin McClory, one of the original writers of the Thunderball storyline with Ian Fleming and Jack Whittingham. McClory retained the filming rights of the novel following a long legal battle dating from the 1960s.
The film was directed by Irvin Kershner and, like Thunderball, stars Sean Connery as British Secret Service agent James Bond, 007, marking his return to the role 12 years after Diamonds Are Forever. It is Connery's seventh and final performance as Bond in a feature film. The film's title is a reference to Connery's reported declaration in 1971 that he would "never again" play that role. As Connery was 52 at the time of filming, the storyline features an aging Bond, who is brought back into action to investigate the theft of two nuclear weapons by SPECTRE. Filming locations included France, Spain, the Bahamas and Elstree Studios in England.
Steptacular is the second studio album by British pop group Steps, released in the United Kingdom on 25 October 1999. It entered the UK Albums Chart at number one, where it remained on the position for three weeks, selling 260,000 copies in the same time frame. "Tragedy", "Love's Got a Hold on My Heart", "After the Love Has Gone", "Say You'll Be Mine", "Deeper Shade of Blue" and "When I Said Goodbye" were released as singles. Many of the songs also appeared on the track list of the US version of their debut album Step One.
Like the group's debut album, Steptacular also contains covers, including a song originally released by female pop group Bananarama entitled "Movin' On", "Make It Easy On Me" originally recorded by Sybil and "Deeper Shade of Blue" originally recorded by Tina Cousins. The album also includes the group's version of Tragedy, which was originally recorded for the Bee Gees tribute album "Gotta Get A Message To You", which was released shortly after Step One.
It entered the UK Albums Chart at number one, selling 84,000 units in its first week—only 1,000 copies ahead of Westlife's debut album, Westlife, beating the Irish boy band. Early UK copies of the album featured a holographic silver "STEPS" logo on front. It was also released in cardboard and tin boxed sets, internationally.
"Never Say Never Again" is a song by the Bee Gees, It was written by Barry, Robin & Maurice Gibb in 1968 and released on the album Odessa in 1969.
Robin recalled that he wanted to write a song with the line, 'I declared war on Spain. According to Robin: "Instead, Barry wanted something so normal it was ridiculous. He said my words were so unromantic. But what could be more normal than a man in love wanting to declare war on anything that was to him unlovely?".
Unlike the other songs on the album, this song was recorded quickly. The Sketches for Odessa disc, released with the album's 2009 remastered edition, has an alternate mono mix from December 7th 1968 with a distorted electric guitar part that is not on the multitrack master and a different lead vocal take. At the beginning of the song, the chord was A. Barry Gibb sings harmony vocals on the line Never say never say never again, Never say never say never again.
Maurice Gibb singing Man in the middle, a song he wrote and produced himself for the “This is where I came in” album in 2001.

The year 1983 was perhaps the biggest in the James Bond franchise's history, as it's the only time not one but two 007 movies hit theaters. One was the official Roger Moore/EON entry, OCTOPUSSY, which opened to blockbuster business worldwide, while the other was the one-off NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN, which featured none other than Sean Connery slipping on his tux for the first time in twelve years. How did this come to be? The story is a complicated one involving lawyers, rights issues, copyright, and more. Suffice to say it was an event or rather an anti-climax as the film was indifferently received by confused fans. A remake of THUNDERBALL, NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN is a unique Bond film in that, in many ways, it's not a James Bond movie at all. How so? Join us on this week's James Bond Revisi...
