MARINE ECOSYSTEM | Biology Animation
For today’s topic, we are going to talk about the “Marine Ecosystem”.
Have you ever dreamt about traveling inside a submarine? Diving from the sea level to the deep ocean where you could no longer see the shine of the sun and you could only see what lies below. What do you think exists there?
There is a system in the ocean where plants and animals live harmonically in a place and that is called the Marine Ecosystems.
The marine ecosystem or the ocean is an area of salty water that covers most of the earth’s surface and there are millions of different plants and animals living inside!
There are five oceans around the world; Arctic, Atlantic, Indian, Pacific, and Southern oceans.
Find out more by watching the video.

Marine Ecology Intro and Patterns in the Marine Environment
This is a voice-narrated PowerPoint lecture recorded for my Florida Gulf Coast University Marine Ecology course. This one is intended to be the first lecture of the course. It covers the basics of what Marine Ecology is, giving some examples of population, community, and ecosystems ecology. Then we introduce the idea of patterns in the marine environment, explaining how and why different species are found in different places. If you're not a student in the course, you might want to skip the first few slides, which talk about rules and grading.

Can the ocean run out of oxygen? - Kate Slabosky
Get to know how a healthy marine ecosystem functions, and what creates the lethal conditions that lead to dead zones.
--
For most of the year, the Gulf of Mexico is teeming with marine life, from tiny crustaceans to massive whales. But every summer, disaster strikes. Around May, animals begin to flee the area. And soon, creatures that can’t swim or can’t swim fast enough begin to suffocate and die off in massive numbers. What's going on? Kate Slabosky dives into the lethal conditions that create dead zones.

The Aquatic Environment: Marine and Freshwater
Water covers 70% of the surface of the Earth, and serves as home to an incredible variety of living organisms. Most of that water is salty, or marine, while some is freshwater, and it is in constant motion through the hydrologic cycle. How can we describe these environments and ecosystems?

For most of the year, the Gulf of Mexico is teeming with marine life, from tiny crustaceans to massive whales. But every summer, disaster strikes. Around May, animals begin to flee the area. And soon, creatures that can’t swim or can’t swim fast enough begin to suffocate and die off in massive numbers. What's going on? Kate Slabosky dives into the lethal conditions that create dead zones.
