You are invited to enjoy underwater ambiance and to see marine life as fish and coral reefs in high resolution.
Some footage have been originally recorded in 8K resolution and some in 4K. I upscaled all 4K films to 8K resolution and I made color correction, thus resulting a new highly quality film.
I usually prefer to produce high resolution films on my channel which takes a longer time than 4K processing, but the result is worth the effort.
I inserted a lot of useful information into subtitles to make watching my films more enjoyable.

The marine carbon cycle consists of the biological pump, the carbonate pump and the physical pump. The biological processes of respiration, predation, death and decomposition, along with physical processes such as the thermohaline circulation, work together to remove carbon from the atmosphere and sequester it in the oceans. In this video we'll explore what makes the oceans a net carbon sink, and why the marine world is so important to the global carbon cycle.

Do you know that:
Seahorses are small fish that get their name from the shape of their head, which resembles that of a miniature horse.
The lionfish is a fish with a spectacular display of red and white zebra striping with projecting venomous spines that may be easily identified.
Moray eels reside in shallow water among rocks, hiding in cracks, and can be found in all tropical and subtropical oceans.
Anemone fish live and shelter among the anemone's tentacles, swimming in and out undisturbed by the stinging cells found on the tentacles, which can be harmful to other fish.
This is a mutual relationship, because the fish gets protection from the anemone and it helps the anemone to get rid of parasites.
You can see in their natural habitat: turtles, sharks, dolphins, jelly fish, clown fish, scorpion fish, manta ray, red shrimp, moray and many more.

Thanks to the popularity of "Rainbow Reef Relaxation" (https://youtu.be/eSRj847AY8U), I decided to create you this 11 HOUR long version for all-day relaxation! MORE INFO:
From the cinematographer: "The footage for this film was shot over a period of some years in French Polynesia, Micronesia, Indonesia and East Timor. Unfortunately there are not that vibrant anymore today. Coral reefs have suffered from the rise of water temperature, rise in acidity, destructive fishing methods and severe storms caused by climate change." - Peter Schneider. "Rainbow Reef Relaxation" is a 3-hour long, sweeping yet majestic & vibrant underwater journey to the world's most beautiful lagoons, as captured by Nature Relaxation collaborator Peter Schneider (Underwatercam) paired with ambient underwater sounds and brand new ambient music by the Cynic Project. Filmed in High Definition several years ago, thanks to its age this film offers magical glimpses of an underwater world that is bursting with life, color, and beauty.

Welcome, nature lovers! Today, we're diving into the depths of the ocean to explore some of the most fascinating creatures on Welcome, nature lovers! Today, we're diving into the depths of the ocean to explore some of the most fascinating creatures on the planet - marine mammals!
These amazing animals are masters of the sea, with adaptations that allow them to survive and thrive in even the most challenging environments. From playful dolphins to majestic whales, these marine mammals will leave you in awe and wonder. So, strap on your goggles, grab your snorkel, and get ready to join us on a wild adventure as we explore the incredible world of marine mammals!
There are approximately 5,500 species of mammals on Earth. They are a diverse group of animals that include everything from tiny kangaroo rats, bats and squirrels to massive hippos and elephants.
Mammals are classified together because they share some key characteristics that make them unique compared to other animals.
Mammals are warm-blooded which means they are able to regulate their body temperature to stay stable, regardless of their environment.
Another distinctive trait of mammals is the presence of hair or fur on their bodies. Hair or fur serves multiple purposes, including providing warmth, protection, and camouflage, depending on the specific species.
Mammals give birth to live young and are also defined by the presence of mammary glands in females. These glands produce milk, which is essential for nourishing their young.
All mammals also have lungs which are used taking in oxygen from the air and releasing carbon dioxide from the body.
A marine mammal is a type of mammal that is specifically adapted to living in marine or aquatic environments, such as oceans, seas, and coastal areas. Just like land mammals, marine mammals are warm-blooded, have hair or fur, females have mammary glands and all marine mammals have lungs, meaning they need to come to the surface to breathe at regular intervals.
Marine mammals possess unique physiological, anatomical, and behavioral adaptations that enable them to thrive in their watery habitats.
Marine mammals are a diverse group of mammals, which can be classified into four main groups:
Cetaceans: This group includes whales, dolphins, and porpoises. They are characterized by their streamlined bodies, dorsal fins, and blowholes for breathing. Cetaceans are highly intelligent and social animals, often living in complex social structures.
Pinnipeds: This group comprises seals, sea lions, and walruses. Pinnipeds are characterized by their flipper-like limbs, thick layers of blubber for insulation, and their ability to both swim in water and move on land. They are primarily carnivorous, feeding on fish and various marine invertebrates.
Sirenians: This group includes manatees and dugongs, which are also known as sea cows. Sirenians are large, slow-moving herbivores that feed primarily on seagrasses and other aquatic vegetation. They have a rounded, barrel-shaped body and paddle-like flippers for locomotion.
Marine carnivores: This group consists of a few species of marine-adapted mammals that do not fit into the other three categories, such as sea otters and polar bears. These animals have various adaptations that allow them to hunt and feed in marine environments. For example, sea otters have dense fur for insulation and use tools to break open the shells of their prey, while polar bears are powerful swimmers that hunt seals on sea ice.
And that's a wrap on our epic journey through the world of marine mammals! Fron giant whales, acrobatic dolphins, the chilled out sea lions, and the mysterious manatees, it's amazing how diverse and fascinating these creatures are, right?
Thanks for learning and I'll see ya on our next adventure.the planet - marine mammals!

00:00 - An Introduction to the Marine Carbon Cycle
01:52 - The Biological Pump - Diffusion of Carbon
02:36 - The Biological Pump - The Role of Phytoplankton
03:42 - The Biological Pump - Predation and the Food Web
04:52 - The Biological Pump - Diel Vertical Migration
06:30 - The Biological Pump - Marine Snow and the Deep Sea
08:14 - The Biological Pump - Whale-falls and Carrion
09:38 - The Carbonate Pump - The Formation of Limestone
10:25 - The Carbonate Pump - The White Cliffs of Dover
11:02 - The Carbonate Pump - The Role of Coral Skeletons
12:05 - The Carbonate Pump - The Shell-building Animals
13:13 - The Physical Pump - Upwelling and Downwelling
14:08 - The Physical Pump - Thermohaline Circulation
15:08 - Conclusion: The Importance of the Marine Carbon Cycle
