Sue Raney (born June 18, 1940 in McPherson, Kansas) is an American jazz singer. Signed by Capitol Records at the age of 17, her debut album, the Nelson Riddle-produced When Your Lover Has Gone, was released in 1958.
Biography
Raney begin singing at only four years of age, and encouraged by her mother, began working as a professional before she was a teenager. When she was nearly 14, she joined Jack Carson's Los Angeles-based radio show in 1954, and later worked on television as Ray Anthony's band's main vocalist. Her single Biology was the first Capitol single to be elevated to national promotion after Capitol introduced regional pre-testing in 1960.
After a hiatus in the 1970s, Raney has continued to record sporadically, with one of her most recent albums being a 2006 tribute to Doris Day entitled Heart's Desire.
Her Imperial single "Early Morning Blues And Greens" was well-played on easy-listening stations, peaking at No. 16 on Billboard's MOR chart.
Scenes were shot on location in Guyra, Tubbumurra and Narrabeen, New South Wales, Australia.
The World Premiere was held in Armidale, New South Wales. Johnny Ashcroft and Gay Kayler sang the Little Boy Lost song from the movie live on stage to Nathan Dawes and his stand-in, Toshi Bourke.
Synopsis
The film is based on the true story of a missing Australian child, Stephen Walls (played by Dawes). After his disappearance, a massive search is organized across the Guyra area as its citizens spring into action.
The problem in finding Stephen is that he was taught to not speak to strangers, and is afraid of those who attempt to speak to him. He does not know that the crowds of people attempting to make contact are not enemies, but have volunteered to find him.
"Little Boy Lost" is an Australian hit song recorded by Johnny Ashcroft. He composed the song from a lyric idea put forward by the disc jockey Tony Withers.
Historic event
The song accurately relates the saga of Australia’s greatest land and air search. For four days and three nights, in February 1960, William Stanley, an Aboriginal tracker, five thousand people and seven aircraft searched the rugged New England Ranges of New South Wales for a four-year-old farm boy, Steven Walls, the "Little Boy Lost". They found him alive and well.
Hit record
"Little Boy Lost" was the top Australian hit song of 1960. In its day it became one of the country's all-time greatest hits, awarded the first 45rpmgold record struck in Australia and also, in 1961, New Zealand’s first 45rpm gold record.
Worldwide success
A Johnny Ashcroft TV performance of "Little Boy Lost" was released worldwide as a film clip. That film clip was a forerunner of the video and DVD clips of today. Covers by notable artists were released, such as Jimmy Dean in the United States and Michael Holliday in the United Kingdom. Other notable Australian artists also recorded "Little Boy Lost", among them Jimmy Little, Slim Dusty, the Singing Kettles and Evelyn Bury.

LYRICS:
I'm in Dreamsville - Holding you
A dreamy view - Just we two alone
With love in Dreamsville - Time is new
We're here to love - And we do
We can see the rest of the world, Below us
From our pink cloud
There's no boundary to this magic land
As we go exploring - Hand in hand
To dreamy Dreamsville - Far away
I'ts here we'll love - Here we'll stay
Dreamy Dreamsville - Far away
I'ts here we'll love - Here we'll stay

Yours was the tragedy of the common man, With his simple plan And his two hour hair regime And the idea of keeping clean, was staying mean Which is funny Cause the rough boy And the pretty boy Well, they really don't make a pretty rough man That's all I can My advice to you And you are just a boy With a scareless defeat (?) Oh please don't take on the world Oh don't do it for me Well 'catastrophe' should be your first name And 'brylcream' should be your middle name And so sick is your love for her You might as well just dip her into a coma And if I piece together all the leather you wear, It would stretch from here to the camel that's not there And that's so wrong It's so wrong but you don't care And you are just a boy With a scareless defeat (?) Oh please don't take on the world Oh don't do it for me And you are just a boy With a scareless defeat (?) Oh please don't take on the world
