Lawrence Holland studied Anthropology and Prehistoric Archeology, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Cornell University in 1979. He spent the following 2 years on archaeological expeditions in Africa, Europe, India and the United States before changing careers to game design. His interest in computer programming initially started when his college roommate attempted to program a game onto his computer. After buying his own computer, Lawrence Holland studied to figure out how the computer worked and began his career in game design. In 1983, Holland was hired by Human Engineered Software (HESware) to program and convert arcade games to home computers. He started his own team, Micro Imagery, while working with HESware in 1984. During this time, he invented his own game and composed/programmed music for numerous video games.
Lawrence Edward Holland was an English cricketer active from 1912 to 1920 who played for Northamptonshire (Northants). He was born in Tinsley, Sheffield on 17 January 1887 and died in Desborough, Northamptonshire on 3 July 1956. He appeared in ten first-class matches as a righthanded batsman who bowled right arm slow. He scored 202 runs with a highest score of 63 and took six wickets with a best performance of three for 26.

Lawrence Holland was a fringe candidate for mayor in 1991. A 23-year-old journalism student at St. Clair College, he called for Windsor-area garbage to be sent to the Detroit incinerator. After the election, he became co-owner of La Creperie Cafe and Restaurant. Holland campaigned for a council seat in Windsor's third ward in 1994, but dropped out before the election. In the 2000 campaign, he described himself as a waiter and online antique marketer. He campaigned for Ward 2 again in 2003, supporting the Detroit River Tunnel Partnership proposal. He was again defeated.

It is also an Anglicized version of Ó hUallacháin (or Houlihan or Holohan) and is a common surname on the [Beara Peninsula]] in southwestern County Cork, Ireland. The Parts of Holland/ˈhɒlənd/ is a historical subdivision used in south-east Lincolnshire, England from 1889 to 1974. The name is still recognised locally and survives in the district of South Holland.
Administration
Parts of Holland was one of the three medieval subdivisions or 'Parts' of Lincolnshire (the other two were Lindsey and Kesteven) which had long had separate county administrations (Quarter Sessions). Under the Local Government Act 1888 it obtained a county council, which it retained until 1974. At that point the three county councils were abolished and Lincolnshire (minus the northern part of Lindsey) had a single county council for the first time.
Before the changes of 1888, Holland had, since probably the tenth century, been divided into the three wapentakes of Elloe, Kirton and Skirbeck.

From 1921 until 1951
After having worked a few years as a sales representative for several publishing houses Jan Berhard van Ulzen established his own publishing business at his home address. The first publications were financed by his wife who had been a successful fashion cutter in Paris. After a few years the business could be located on the canal Herengracht in Amsterdam. In these years Holland specialized in social, Christian publications by original Dutch writers. A few translations were published, for instants (1937) Søren Kierkegaard, (1951) Pär Lagerkvist, and (1940) Denis de Rougemont.
