Jordan is a town in and the county seat of Garfield County, Montana, United States. The population was 343 at the 2010 census.
Originally settled in 1896, Jordan received a post office on July 11, 1899. The founder, Arthur Jordan, had hunted the area a great deal and in 1896 decided to bring his family here to settle along the banks of the Big Dry Creek.
Before very long a town began to spring up around the post office. There were saloons, rooming houses, livery stables, blacksmiths and stores. In the later part of the 1910s the homestead boom hit Garfield County, which was then actually part of Dawson County to the east. By 1919, it became the consensus of many locals that they needed to form a county of their own and Garfield County was established. After much ado by competing towns in the area, Jordan was finally chosen as the county seat, by popular vote.
Jordan was incorporated as a town in 1951.
On March 25, 1996 an 81-day-long standoff between the antigovernment Montana Freemen and federal officers began near here.
Jordan is a village in the town of Waterford, Connecticut, and the historic center of the town. It was named from the Jordan River. The village was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Jordan Village Historic District in 1990. The district includes 58 contributing buildings and one other contributing site over an area of 57 acres (23 ha). It includes examples of Greek Revival and Queen Anne architectural styles.
Jordan Village is located on land known historically as Jordan Plain, a flat land area at the head of Jordan Cove, an estuary off Long Island Sound. The historic district surrounds the intersection of Rope Ferry Road and North Road.
Jordan (died in 982 or 984) was the first Bishop of Poland from 968 with his seat, most probably, in Poznań. He was an Italian or German.
Most evidence shows that he was missionary bishop subordinate directly to the Pope. He arrived in Poland, probably from Italy or the Rhineland, in 966 with Doubravka of Bohemia to baptise Mieszko I of Poland. After the death of Jordan until 992 the throne of the Bishop of Poland was vacant, or there was a bishop of unknown name (the first theory is more probable). His successor, from 992, was Unger.
The Jordan 198 was the car with which the Jordan Formula One team used to compete in the 1998 Formula One season. It was driven by 1996 World Champion Damon Hill, who had moved from Arrows, and Ralf Schumacher, who was in his second season with the team.
After a dismal start which saw the team fail to score a single championship point in the first half of the season, numerous improvements to the car and tyre development by Goodyear enabled Jordan to climb back into the top teams. At the 1998 Belgian Grand Prix, the team scored a historic first victory with Hill, with Schumacher finishing behind him in second place. The team finished fourth in the Constructors' Championship, one ahead of Benetton.

Montana was a paddle steamer that was wrecked off the north coast of Bermuda on 30 December 1863.
The vessel was intended for operation as a blockade runner supplying Confederate Forces in the American Civil War. It was on its maiden voyage from London, headed ultimately for Wilmington in North Carolina. She was carrying cargo from Britain to help the Confederates. Britain could not be seen to be directly aiding the Confederates, hence various levels of secrecy were used for this and similar vessels. For example, at the time she was using an assumed name of Nola, a ruse to help avoid the attention of Union forces. She had used at least two other names at various times, namely the Gloria, and Paramount.
Captain Pittman was in command of the vessel, and saw her safely across a rough Atlantic Ocean as far as Bermuda, where Pittman planned to stop to take on coal before departing for Wilmington. The ship hit the reef of Bermuda's north shore, in an area known as the Western Blue Cut on 30 December 1863.
Montana is a Mesoamerican archaeological site on the Pacific coastal plain of southern Guatemala. It is located in the department of Escuintla, near Balberta, and is one of the largest Mesoamerican archaeological sites on the Pacific Coast of Guatemala.
Around AD 400, in the Early Classic period, Montana replaced Balberta as the regional capital. The investigating archaeologists consider that Montana was founded as a colony by the great metropolis of Teotihuacan in the distant Valley of Mexico in order to supply that city with locally produced products such as cacao, cotton and rubber and to provide a trade route to the great highland city of Kaminaljuyu and to the Maya lowlands across the Sierra Madre de Chiapas.
The establishment of the Teotihuacan colony at Montana resulted in the collapse of the important nearby site of Balberta and the new capital flourished until about AD 600, dominating the region for about 200 years. This coincides with the period of Teotihuacan contact at Kaminaljuyu. The production of local copies of Teotihuacan artifacts ceased by the close of the Early Classic, coinciding with widespread destruction in the centre of Teotihuacan and the decline of that city and indicating the end of Montana as a colony.

Tracie Albert and her husband Myles had a harrowing 14-month journey to getting their dream home after they bought it. The couple purchased the house over a year ago, but the previous owner refused to leave, and couldn’t be forced out due to pandemic eviction restrictions. Now, the squatters have moved out, and the house is in surprisingly good shape. But the couple says they can’t imagine moving in after what they’ve been through. Myles said just driving up to the house causes “so much anxiety.” #InsideEdition

Bill Cosby, 83, may be planning to go back on the road with a one-man show. Cosby’s spokesperson Andrew Wyatt told Inside Edition in an exclusive interview following Cosby’s release from prison. Cosby requested pizza as his first meal out of prison, where he was serving a three- to 10-year sentence for aggravated indecent assault against Temple University sports administrator Andrea Constand. The conviction was overturned on Wednesday, outraging many of the 60 women who allege he violated them. #InsideEdition

The Quakers, also known as the Religious Society of Friends, have a unique approach to baptism that differs from other Christian denominations. Quakers do not practice physical baptisms because they believe that baptism is a spiritual experience that can happen at any time and in any place. This belief stems from the Quaker emphasis on the inner light, or the idea that God speaks to individuals directly, rather than through priests or sacraments. Quakers historically rejected many outward forms and ceremonies, including baptism and communion, as they believed these practices were not necessary for salvation. Instead, they focused on living a simple, ethical life in line with their beliefs and values. Today, many Quakers continue to embrace this spiritual approach to baptism and reject the...
