Ralf Schumacher (born 30 June 1975) is a German former racing driver. He is the younger brother of seven-time Formula One World Champion Michael Schumacher and the pair are the only siblings to have won races in Formula One.
Schumacher began karting at the age of three and achieved early success, before he made the transition to car racing in the German Formula Three Championship and the Formula Nippon series. He first drove in Formula One with Jordan Grand Prix for the 1997 season. Schumacher moved to the Williams F1 team in 1999 finishing in the top ten of the Drivers' Championship that year. He won his first Grand Prix in 2001, en route to 4th place in the Drivers' Championship, and subsequently won five more victores over the course of two years.
Schumacher left Williams at the end of 2004 and joined Toyota Racing in 2005. However, his performances throughout 2006 and 2007 resulted in Schumacher leaving Formula One, as a result of internal pressure. After leaving Formula One, Schumacher joined the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters in 2008, achieving minor success, and retired from motorsport at the end of 2012 to enter a managerial role within DTM, mentoring young drivers.
"[Ralf Schumacher had a dramatic start to his Turkish Grand Prix when he was pushed off the circuit at the first corner. But he still managed to claw his way through the field to an eventual 12th place.] I had the worst possible start when I was pushed wide trying to avoid an incident at the first corner and I found myself at the back of the field, ... So I basically lost it all then. Then I ran over Massa's front wing as I rejoined the track, so this was always going to be a tough struggle for me. Luckily my car was okay and I kept pushing all the way to the flag. Towards the end I was chasing Villeneuve but there was no way past. All in all an unlucky day, which is a pity for the team because the pace was there and we could easily have scored points today."
"Unfortunately weather like that means that this will be a hard weekend for all the teams. Obviously it makes it very difficult to pick which dry tyre to run ? if we ever get a chance to run on dries this weekend. It makes tomorrow busier, too. We'll have to go out in the wet eventually. There have been no wet races yet this year and at Toyota we haven't done much testing in the wet either. So we'll have to wait and see how it works out."
"That was a very tough race. The timing of the safety car period worked to our advantage early on and we were in good shape. We were quick in the conditions, everything was going well and the strategy was well defined. Then we just decided to go onto dry tyres too early. It was a very close decision, but we took it together and we got it wrong."
"Like everyone we expected the track to dry out a lot faster than it did. Instead the track was incredibly slow to dry out. It was amazing how slippery the circuit was, and I can't remember seeing a race like that. We came straight back in and that enabled us to score some points. The team did a great job but we just got one decision wrong."
"That was a pretty tough race for us today. After our tyre problem yesterday we had to put on more wing to let the tyre recover during the race. But the car was very difficult to drive all race, especially early on. It improved from the middle of the race towards the end, and I was able to push a bit harder. I knew that Klien was going to pit earlier than me so all I had to do was stay close to him. Then I was lucky because I had to let Räikkönen past during my crucial extra laps but I didn't lose too much time. After all that, one point is better than nothing."
"That was the biggest concern I had, seeing Ralf sitting so long in the car,"
"I said, 'please, please not something bad'."
"The only thing I have to say is that it was a pretty strong move and next time I will have him off the track,"
"It was a move based on me making space for him, which I did not want that early in the race on the basis of scoring as much as possible and getting the best out of the weekend."

Ralf Schumacher shocks the internet by coming out as gay
Formula 1 has historically been a rather less diverse environment. Throughout the sport’s long history, it has been mostly dominated by straight white men. This has been prevalent in the motorsports world as a whole. Now, ex-F1 driver and Michael Schumacher‘s brother Ralf Schumacher has taken a bold step to finally come out to the world.

How fast Ralf Schumacher was in Austria 2022 compared to modern F1 cars
During the 2022 Austrian GP Ralf Schumacher participated in a historical event
driving his 2003 Williams FW25. The car had 100 less horsepower, but it was given
modern Pirelli slicks instead of Michelin pseudo-slicks. Ralf claimed that he was
probably faster than some 2022 cars, but there were no trackers on his car to confirm
it. But later he posted in his Instagram the exact time he set - 1:08.170. If to imagine
that he could hold the tempo around that time, he could be able to finish 3rd in 2022
Austrian GP right after Verstappen and Leclerc.
But there is no video of that lap for some reason. The onboard camera filmed
the whole session he had. The quickest lap caught on tape was about 1:13. Maybe
there were another sessions that were not caught on tape, idk. So I deci...

time for Williams in Spielberg in 2002-2003.
