William John Clifton "Bill" Haley (/ˈheɪliː/; July 6, 1925 – February 9, 1981) was an American rock and roll musician. He is credited by many with first popularizing this form of music in the early 1950s with his group Bill Haley & His Comets and million-selling hits such as "Rock Around the Clock", "See You Later, Alligator", "Shake, Rattle and Roll", "Rocket 88", "Skinny Minnie", and "Razzle Dazzle". He has sold over 25 million records worldwide.
Bill Haley was born July 6, 1925 in Highland Park, Michigan, as William John Clifton Haley. In 1929 the four-year-old Haley underwent an inner-ear mastoid operation which accidentally severed an optic nerve, leaving him blind in his left eye for the rest of his life. As a result of the effects of the Great Depression on the Detroit area, his father moved the family to Boothwyn, near Chester, Pennsylvania, when Bill was seven years old. Haley's father William Albert Haley was from Kentucky and played the banjo and mandolin, and his mother, Maude Green, who was originally from Ulverston in Cumbria, England, was a technically accomplished keyboardist with classical training. Haley told the story that when he made a simulated guitar out of cardboard, his parents bought him a real one.
Bill Haley & His Comets was an American rock and roll band that was founded in 1952 and continued until Haley's death in 1981. The band, also known by the names Bill Haley and the Comets and Bill Haley's Comets (and variations thereof), was the earliest group of white musicians to bring rock and roll to the attention of white America and the rest of the world. From late 1954 to late 1956, the group placed nine singles in the Top 20, one of those a number one and three more in the Top Ten.
Bandleader Bill Haley had previously been a country music performer; after recording a country and western-styled version of "Rocket 88", a rhythm and blues song, he changed musical direction to a new sound which came to be called rock and roll.
Although several members of the Comets became famous, Bill Haley remained the star. With his spit curl and the band's matching plaid dinner jackets and energetic stage behavior, many fans consider them to be as revolutionary in their time as the Beatles or the Rolling Stones were a decade later.
The Hook, Line and Sinker are the three essential pieces of fishing tackle in angling. Also, in English language, the phrase 'to swallow something "hook, line and sinker" ' is an idiomatic expression to describe a situation where a person or group accepts wholesale and uncritically an idea or set of beliefs.

Hook, Line and Sinker is a 1930 American Pre-Code slapstick comedy directed by Edward F. Cline from a screenplay by Ralph Spence and Tim Whelan. It was the third starring vehicle for the comedy team of Wheeler & Woolsey (Bert Wheeler and Robert Woolsey), and also featured Dorothy Lee. It would be one of the largest financial successes for RKO Pictures in 1930.
Two fast-talking insurance salesmen — Wilbur Boswell and J. Addington Ganzy — help penniless socialite Mary Marsh to turn a dilapidated hotel, which was willed to her, into a thriving success. They soon run into trouble, however, in the form of two sets of rival gangsters who want to break into the hotel safe; also, Mary's mother, Rebecca Marsh, wants her to marry wealthy lawyer John Blackwell, although Mary has fallen in love with Wilbur. And while she takes an instant dislike to Wilbur, Rebecca falls for Ganzy. Adding to the complications is the fact that Blackwell is actually in league with the gangsters. The finale involves nighttime runarounds and a shoot-out in the hotel. During the pitched battle between the rival gangs and the police, Boswell and Ganzy save the jewels, after which Ganzy marries Rebecca, and then gives away Mary at her marriage to Wilbur.
Hook, Line and Sinker is an Australian fishing television program, produced by HLS Productions in Hobart, Tasmania and is hosted by Nick Duigan and Andrew Hart. The program premiered in 2001 and is broadcast nationally on the Southern Cross Television network. The show is aired on Saturday afternoons and runs for 30 minutes.
The show features some light entertainment and comical behaviour from the hosts as well as serious fishing news and stories from around Australia.
The University of Tasmania presents a regular segment on the show called The Deep End. The segment features research and material from the Marine Research Laboratories at the Hobart campus and the National Centre for Marine Conservation & Resource Sustainability at the Launceston campus.

History Originally entitled "Later Alligator", the song, based on a 12-bar blues chord structure (141541),was written by Louisiana songwriter Robert Charles Guidry and first recorded by him under his professional name "Bobby Charles" in 1955. Guidry, a Cajun musician, adopted a New Orleans-influenced blues style for the recording. He also wrote "Walking to New Orleans", which was recorded by Fats Domino.

The first record I bought was 'Rock Around The Clock' by Bill Haley and the Comets, a 78rpm one. This is from the Royal Variety Show of 1979 recorded at Theatre Royal Drury Lane where my father was the Manager. Bill Haley died just 15 months later at the age of 55 most likely from a heart attack'.
Bill Haley & The Comets sing one of their biggest hits - Shake Rattle & Roll.
This is just my free interpretation of songs by Elvis Presley (Blue Suede Shoes), Stray Cats (Rock This Town) and Bill Haley (Rock Around The Clock)
A song by Bill Haley and his Comets.A cover of the song by "Big" Joe Turner. Please comments.

I got a woman just as sweet as can be
She reminds me of a little green tree
Her limbs are straight, she grows tall
She comes from the south and she says 'you all'
Oh, the little green trees are growing up all around
(Green tree boogie)
Yeah, the little green trees are growing up all around
(Green tree boogie)
When the rain falls they spring up from the ground
(Green tree boogie)
Oh, the green tree boogie is driving me almost wild
(Green tree boogie)
Oh, the green tree boogie is driving me almost wild
(Green tree boogie)
If it don't make you boogie, it will surely make you
smile
(Green tree boogie)
Soon I'll marry her, I'm gonna settle down
Gonna buy me a home in some small town
Then we'll have a lot of little green trees
All growing up just to worry me
And the little green trees will grow up all around
(Green tree boogie)
Yeah, the little green trees will grow up all around
(Green tree boogie)
When their mammie calls, they'll spring up from the
ground
(Green tree boogie)
Oh, the green tree boogie is driving me almost wild
(Green tree boogie)
Oh, the green tree boogie is driving me almost wild
(Green tree boogie)
If it don't make you boogie, it will surely make you
smile
(Green tree boogie)
Oh, the green tree boogie is driving me almost wild
(Green tree boogie)
Yeah, the green tree boogie is driving me almost wild
(Green tree boogie)
If it don't make you boogie, it will surely make you
