William John Clifton "Bill" Haley (/ˈheɪliː/; July 6, 1925 – February 9, 1981) was an American rock and roll musician. He is credited by many with first popularizing this form of music in the early 1950s with his group Bill Haley & His Comets and million-selling hits such as "Rock Around the Clock", "See You Later, Alligator", "Shake, Rattle and Roll", "Rocket 88", "Skinny Minnie", and "Razzle Dazzle". He has sold over 25 million records worldwide.
Bill Haley was born July 6, 1925 in Highland Park, Michigan, as William John Clifton Haley. In 1929 the four-year-old Haley underwent an inner-ear mastoid operation which accidentally severed an optic nerve, leaving him blind in his left eye for the rest of his life. As a result of the effects of the Great Depression on the Detroit area, his father moved the family to Boothwyn, near Chester, Pennsylvania, when Bill was seven years old. Haley's father William Albert Haley was from Kentucky and played the banjo and mandolin, and his mother, Maude Green, who was originally from Ulverston in Cumbria, England, was a technically accomplished keyboardist with classical training. Haley told the story that when he made a simulated guitar out of cardboard, his parents bought him a real one.
"Shake, Rattle and Roll" is a twelve bar blues-form rock and roll song, written in 1954 by Jesse Stone under his assumed songwriting name Charles E. Calhoun. It was originally recorded by Big Joe Turner, and most successfully by Bill Haley & His Comets. The song as sung by Big Joe Turner is ranked #127 on the Rolling Stone magazine's list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
In early 1954, Ahmet Ertegun of Atlantic Records suggested to Stone that he write an up-tempo blues for Big Joe Turner, a blues shouter whose career had begun in Kansas City before World War II. Stone played around with various phrases before coming up with "shake, rattle and roll".
However, the phrase had been used in earlier songs. In 1919, Al Bernard recorded a song about gambling with dice with the same title, clearly evoking the action of shooting dice from a cup. The phrase is also heard in "Roll The Bones" by the Excelsior Quartette in 1922.
Shake, Rattle & Roll is a 1984 Filipino horror anthology film directed by Emmanuel H. Borlaza, Ishmael Bernal, and Peque Gallaga. It is the first installment in the Shake, Rattle & Roll film series. Shake, Rattle & Roll was the only film in the series to be produced and distributed by Athena Productions, with the rest of the installments produced and distributed by Regal Films. The film was an entry of the 10th Metro Manila Film Festival, with Herbert Bautista winning Best Actor.
Paolo (Rey "PJ" Abellana), Girlie (Arlene Mulach) and Johnny (Joel Torre) decide to perform a spirit of the glass in an abandoned house. When they contact the spirits; namely Isabel, Ibarra and Juanito, the spirits break free from the glass and possess the teens.
In the Spanish era, Isabel is the daughter of Soledad and Antonio. She loves Juanito, a soldier who was battling against the Spaniards, but has to love her suitor Ibarra, a handsome and wealthy man and Juanito's companion. When Juanito began to leave for battle, Isabel awaits for his return. The next day, one of Juanito's companions report to Isabel that Juanito died from the battle with the Spaniards. Devastated by his loss, Isabel decide her engagement with Ibarra. After Isabel and Ibarra celebrate their marriage, they were attacked by Juanito, who was revealed to be alive and was mad when he discovered of her betrayal but Ibarra kills him. Before his last breath, he will have revenge on Ibarra and Isabel for their betrayal to him. Moments after his death, Ibarra commits suicide after being guilty of the death of Juanito, who haunts him and Isabel died from her sickness due to excessive depression. Their spirits haunts the abandoned house and began to reenact their past.
The Shake, Rattle & Roll film series is a Filipino horror anthology film series dating back to 1984. It is currently produced by Regal Films. Most of the series are official entries for the Metro Manila Film Festival with the exception of the sixth installment which premiered in January 1997. The title is solely based on the song of the same name.
This horror film franchise, which is currently owned by Regal Films, is the Philippines film series with the most movie installments. The first installment was released under the defunct Athena Productions while all the succeeding series are produced by Regal Entertainment. As of 2012, there are fourteen installments of the movie series.
The latest installment was released on Christmas Day on December 25, 2014 at the 40th Metro Manila Film Festival as one of many official entries at the event.
"BASO"
Bill Haley & His Comets was an American Rock&Roll band founded in 1952 that continued playing until Haley's death in 1981. The band was the earliest group of white musicians to bring Rock&Roll to the attention of white America and the rest of the world. From late 1954 to1956, the group placed nine singles into the Top 20 and three more in the Top Ten. Many fans consider them to be as revolutionary in their time as The Beatles or the Rolling Stones were a decade or two later. Bill Haley was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
History Originally entitled "Later Alligator", the song, based on a 12-bar blues chord structure (141541),was written by Louisiana songwriter Robert Charles Guidry and first recorded by him under his professional name "Bobby Charles" in 1955. Guidry, a Cajun musician, adopted a New Orleans-influenced blues style for the recording. He also wrote "Walking to New Orleans", which was recorded by Fats Domino.

The first record I bought was 'Rock Around The Clock' by Bill Haley and the Comets, a 78rpm one. This is from the Royal Variety Show of 1979 recorded at Theatre Royal Drury Lane where my father was the Manager. Bill Haley died just 15 months later at the age of 55 most likely from a heart attack'.
Bill Haley & The Comets sing one of their biggest hits - Shake Rattle & Roll.
This is just my free interpretation of songs by Elvis Presley (Blue Suede Shoes), Stray Cats (Rock This Town) and Bill Haley (Rock Around The Clock)

I got a woman just as sweet as can be
She reminds me of a little green tree
Her limbs are straight, she grows tall
She comes from the south and she says 'you all'
Oh, the little green trees are growing up all around
(Green tree boogie)
Yeah, the little green trees are growing up all around
(Green tree boogie)
When the rain falls they spring up from the ground
(Green tree boogie)
Oh, the green tree boogie is driving me almost wild
(Green tree boogie)
Oh, the green tree boogie is driving me almost wild
(Green tree boogie)
If it don't make you boogie, it will surely make you
smile
(Green tree boogie)
Soon I'll marry her, I'm gonna settle down
Gonna buy me a home in some small town
Then we'll have a lot of little green trees
All growing up just to worry me
And the little green trees will grow up all around
(Green tree boogie)
Yeah, the little green trees will grow up all around
(Green tree boogie)
When their mammie calls, they'll spring up from the
ground
(Green tree boogie)
Oh, the green tree boogie is driving me almost wild
(Green tree boogie)
Oh, the green tree boogie is driving me almost wild
(Green tree boogie)
If it don't make you boogie, it will surely make you
smile
(Green tree boogie)
Oh, the green tree boogie is driving me almost wild

Yeah, the green tree boogie is driving me almost wild
