Neil Percival Young, OC OM (born November 12, 1945) is a Canadian singer-songwriter and musician. He began performing in a group covering Shadows instrumentals in Canada in 1960, before moving to California in 1966, where he co-founded the band Buffalo Springfield together with Stephen Stills and Richie Furay, and later joined Crosby, Stills & Nash in 1969. He released his first album in 1968 and has since forged a successful and acclaimed solo career, spanning over 45 years and 35 studio albums, with a continuous and uncompromizing exploration of musical styles. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame website describes Young as "one of rock and roll's greatest songwriters and performers". He was inducted into the Hall of Fame twice, first as a solo artist in 1995, and second as a member of Buffalo Springfield in 1997.
Young's music is characterized by his distinctive guitar work, deeply personal lyrics and characteristic alto or high tenor singing voice. Although he accompanies himself on several different instruments, including piano and harmonica, his idiosyncratic electric and acoustic guitar playing are the defining characteristics of a varyingly ragged and melodic sound.
Neil Young is a retired goalkeeper who played for A-League club Perth Glory. Playing the majority of his career in the Football West State League with Sorrento FC Young had trials with Crewe Alexandra, Stockport County and Bournemouth FC in England before moving to Victoria to play for the Melbourne Knights in 2008.He is now contracted as the Goalkeeping coach for the Indian Super League side Kerala Blasters.
Signed just prior to the beginning of the 2009-10 Hyundai A-League season as back-up to young Novocastrian goalkeeper Ben Kennedy, Young made his debut for the Jets at EnergyAustralia Stadium on 8 November 2009 against North Queensland Fury after a Kennedy was forced out during the warm-up by a groin injury. Although rarely called upon due to the good form of Newcastle's defence, Young enjoyed a solid debut performance and kept a clean sheet in the 2-0 victory.
In the Jets' clash against Gold Coast United on 13 January, Young was kicked in the face by Gold Coast striker Shane Smeltz when diving on a loose ball in the 18-yard box. The injury sidelined Young for the final four games of the regular season and an adverse reaction to medication meant the 30-year-old shot stopper missed the play-off final which Newcastle won 6-5 on penalties. Young was left fighting for his life and remained in intensive care for more than 6 weeks, losing 20 kilograms (25% of his body weight) in the process. Doctors had to remove his large intestine and he stopped producing white blood cells in addition to bone marrow failure.
Neil Young (born 1975) is an English former semi-professional footballer and manager of Colwyn Bay, Chester and Stockport County.
Young began his playing career as a youth team player at Tranmere Rovers, playing as a midfield player. After being released by Tranmere, he moved first to Conwy United, and then to Droylsden. However, he suffered persistent problems with a dislocated shoulder, and after his fifth dislocation he retired from playing football aged only 24.
Young started his managerial career with Poulton Victoria, in the West Cheshire League, before moving on to be assistant manager at Rhyl F.C. and Cammell Laird. He was appointed as manager of Colwyn Bay in September 2008, with Gary Jones as his assistant manager. In his first season in charge, Colwyn Bay finished fourth in the Northern Premier League Division One North with 73 points from 40 games, falling to Newcastle Blue Star in the playoff semi-finals. His second season in charge was a near-replica, again finishing fourth, this time with 75 points from 42 matches. However, on this occasion Colwyn Bay performed better in the playoffs, knocking out Curzon Ashton 2–1 in the playoff semi-final, and then beating Lancaster City 1–0 in the final to secure promotion to the Northern Premier League Premier Division. However, despite securing promotion Young would never manage Colwyn Bay in the higher division.
Homegrown is an unreleased country-rock album by Neil Young. It was so near to being released that a cover had been created. At the last moment however, Neil Young chose to drop Homegrown and release Tonight's the Night instead. Young stated that he had a playback party for Homegrown and Tonight's the Night happened to be on the same reel. He decided to release Tonight's the Night after that listening because of "its overall strength in performance and feeling" and because Homegrown "was just a very down album."
The album was largely acoustic, with many of the songs being solo performances of Young on guitar and harmonica. It was also quite personal, and revealed much of Young's feelings on his failing relationship at the time with actress Carrie Snodgress. Young has said that "Homegrown is the missing link between Harvest, Comes a Time, Old Ways and Harvest Moon."
Over the next few years many of the songs would be released on subsequent albums; "Pardon My Heart" on Zuma, "Star of Bethlehem" and an alternate take of "Homegrown" on American Stars 'N Bars, "Love Is a Rose" and "Deep Forbidden Lake" on Decade, and "Little Wing" and "The Old Homestead" on Hawks & Doves. "Homegrown" was re-recorded with Crazy Horse on American Stars 'N Bars, as was "White Line" for Ragged Glory. The lyrics of "Florida" were superimposed over the credits for On the Beach on the insert that accompanied the original vinyl release of Tonight's the Night. The song "Barefoot Floors" was covered by Nicolette Larson on her album Sleep, Baby, Sleep.
Neil Young is the self-titled debut studio album by Canadian musician Neil Young, which was his debut release as a solo artist following his departure from the band Buffalo Springfield. Released first on January 22, 1969, it was then partially remixed and re-released in November 1969. In neither case did it appear on the Billboard 200 album chart.
The album was originally released on January 22, 1969. The first release used the Haeco-CSG encoding system. This technology was intended to make stereo records compatible with mono record players, but had the unfortunate side effect of degrading the sound in both stereo and mono.
Young was unhappy with the sound quality of the first release. "The first mix was awful," he was reported as saying in Cash Box of September 6, 1969. "I was trying to bury my voice, because I didnʼt like the way it sounded." The album was therefore remixed in the summer of 1969 (as announced in Rolling Stone #47, from December 13), and re-released without Haeco-CSG processing. The words "Neil Young" were added to the album cover after what was left of the original stock had been used up, so copies of both mixes exist in the original sleeve. Copies of the original 1968 mix are now rare and sought-after, because many Neil Young fans believe that the 1969 mix diminished the songs, especially "Here We Are In The Years."

You can get away with a lot on television these days, but there are still plenty of examples of TV shows that went too far. The definitions of obscene and inappropriate have relaxed a lot since television shows were first created. If you transported someone from the 1950s to watch today's television, they would be shocked and outraged by the amount of cursing you can get away with! Still, even modern television has its rules. Today, American television, radio, and cable are all monitored by the Federal Communications Commission. It was founded in 1934 by President Franklin D.
