Colwyn Bay (Welsh:Bae Colwyn) is a town, community and seaside resort in Conwy County Borough on the north coast of Wales overlooking the Irish Sea. Eight neighbouring communities are incorporated within its postal district. Established as its own separate parish in 1844 with just a small grouping of homes and farms where the community of Old Colwyn stands today, Colwyn Bay has expanded to become the second-largest community and business centre in the north of Wales as well as the 16th largest in the whole of Wales with the urban statistical area having a population of 28,992 at the 2001 census. Locally nicknamed "The Bay".
History
The western side of Colwyn Bay, Rhos-on-Sea, includes a number of historic sites associated with St Trillo and Ednyfed Fychan, the 13th century general and councillor to Llywelyn the Great.
Government
Bay of Colwyn Town Council is a statutory body, covering the communities in the urban area. The mayor for 2014-15 is Valarie Smith.
The club have reached the semi-finals of the Welsh Cup on three occasions, but no longer participate in the competition due to Football Association of Wales restrictions on clubs that play in the English pyramid.
History
Formation and pre-war
The club traces its history back to 1881 when a Colwyn Bay club was first formed. They entered the North Wales Coast Football League in 1901 and remained in this league until it folded in 1921, whereupon they joined the Welsh National League. The club became founder members of the North Wales Football Combination in 1930, marking their first entrance into English football, as the new league also covered Cheshire.
The borough was abolished in 1996, when wales was divided into unitary authorities created by the Local Government (Wales) Act 1994. The area of Colwyn was split: a large part going to Aberconwy and Colwyn county borough, (soon renamed as Conwy), and the remainder going to Denbighshire unitary authority.
Colwyn is currently an electoral ward. It consists in part the Community of Old Colwyn with a total population of 4,566

⭐ About Postcard & A Pint:
Welcome to the official Postcard & A Pint YouTube channel.
Postcard & A Pint was thought up by my partner, Rachel & myself, Wills one day while taking our daily 1 hour exercise during the lockdown of 2020. All of a sudden, we were spending more time together, not working 6 or 7 days a week in the arts industry, and binge watching travel programs, and we were actually really enjoying it, and it made us re-evaluate what was important in life for us. Now back to working 6 or 7 days a week again, with very little time off, our happy time is getting out there on our brief times off together and making short travel videos that we are now sharing with you. It's just a bit of fun, and great for our sanity. Your support is hugely appreciated x

We then headed into Colwyn Bay itself, where we concentrate on things to see and do in Colwyn Bay, North Wales.
We take a look around the town of Colwyn Bay, but on this winter's day in January, it wasn't as vibrant as maybe it is in the Summer..
We took a look at the new, Ink Cafe, a community art cafe in the centre of Colwyn Bay, we loved it and will definitely be returning soon.
We continued this North Wales Vlog down at Colwyn Bay beach, which is right up there with the best beaches in North Wales.
We took a stroll along the beach and the remains of the old Colwyn Bay Pier.
We finish off this North Wales vlog trip to Colwyn Bay at home, where we sum up the day and enjoy a well deserved drink.
Thank you for watching this Colwyn Bay North Wales Vlog, and as we always say on Postcard and a Pint, Cheers To The Good Times x
