Raymond Charles Robinson (September 23, 1930 – June 10, 2004), professionally known as Ray Charles, was an American singer, songwriter, musician, and composer. He was sometimes referred to as "The Genius", and was also nicknamed "The High Priest of Soul".
He pioneered the genre of soul music during the 1950s by combining rhythm and blues, Gospel, and blues styles into the music he recorded for Atlantic Records. He also contributed to the racial integration of country and pop music during the 1960s with his crossover success on ABC Records, most notably with his two Modern Sounds albums. While he was with ABC, Charles became one of the first African-American musicians to be granted artistic control by a mainstream record company.
Charles was blind from the age of seven. Charles cited Nat King Cole as a primary influence, but his music was also influenced by jazz, blues, rhythm and blues, and country artists of the day, including Art Tatum, Louis Jordan, Charles Brown, and Louis Armstrong. Charles' playing reflected influences from country blues, barrelhouse, and stride piano styles. He had strong ties to Quincy Jones, who often cared for him and showed him the ropes of the "music club industry."

Drôle de parcours is the fifth studio album by French rapper La Fouine. It was released on 4 February 2013 by his record label Banlieue Sale and Jive Records, and peaked at number 1 on the French Albums Chart.
After the release of his fourth studio album La Fouine vs. Laouni on 14 February 2011, La Fouine released the mixtape Capitale du crime, Vol. 3 on 28 November the same year, that featured artists such as T-Pain, Orelsan, Mister You, Nessbeal, Alonzo or even Amel Bent and Corneille, who are both featured in Drôle de parcours. Corneille also released the single "Des pères, des hommes et des frères" with La Fouine the same year.
In March 2012, La Fouine announced that he was working on a fifth studio album, and was working with Amel Bent in the studio. In September 2012, he revealed February 2013 as the release month for the album, as well as its title.
"Ray Charles" is a single released from American rap group Chiddy Bang. It was released in Canada on November 14, 2011 as a digital download as the second single from their debut studio album Breakfast. The song is an homage to the musician of the same name.
A music video to accompany the release of "Ray Charles" was first released onto YouTube on January 5, 2012. The music video features the duo watching videos on VEVO, including one that features the duo dressed up like Ray Charles, performing with woman as well. Briefly, "Pass Out" and "So What Cha Want", by Tinie Tempah and the Beastie Boys, respectively, can be heard. After one and week of being on the site the official video had been viewed just over 3.8 million times.
Robert Copsey of Digital Spy gave the song a positive review stating:
It's easy to see how they've come to appreciate the late star as their soul homage not only fully embodies his sound, but also highlights how popular it remains today. Over a vintage piano riff and bouncy jazz section they rap a tribute to the legend that falls somewhere between profound and dangerously tongue-in-cheek ("You're too blind to see it"), but the result nonetheless sounds genuinely heartfelt.
Ray Charles (born Charles Raymond Offenberg; September 13, 1918 – April 6, 2015), was an American musician, singer, songwriter, vocal arranger and conductor who was best known as organizer and leader of the Ray Charles Singers. The Ray Charles Singers were featured on Perry Como's records and television shows for 35 years. The Ray Charles Singers were also known for a series of 30 choral record albums produced in the 1950s and 1960s for the Essex, MGM, Decca and Command labels.
As a vocalist, Charles, along with Julia Rinker Miller, was known for singing the theme song to the television series Three's Company ("Come and Knock on Our Door"). As a songwriter, Charles was best known for the choral anthem "Fifty Nifty United States," in which he set the names of the states to music in alphabetical order. It was originally written for The Perry Como Show. He is also known for "Letters, We Get Letters," also originally written for The Perry Como Show and later used on Late Show with David Letterman.

This concert at the Paris Olympia was supposed to be a very special and emotional for Ray Charles. It was his 70th birthday; and it was his first tour in this new millennium. That night, (November 22nd.2000) Ray Charles was supposed to play with his "Big Band" but due to an air traffic controller's strike in Lisbon; the Band was stuck at the airport. So, Ray had only his drummer, a guitar player and a bass player for the performance. But they worked out a new show, set list and arrangements in the hotel room and came on stage late. The show went on, and what resulted, was a fantastic and a creative concert, with a rare emotion and sensibility.

Unchain my heart, baby let me be
Unchain my heart 'cause you don't care about me
You've got me sewed up like a pillow case
but you let my love go to waste so
Unchain my heart, oh please, please set me free
Unchain my heart, baby let me go
Unchain my heart, 'cause you don't love me no more
Ev'ry time I call you on the phone
Some fella tells me that you're not at home so
Unchain my heart, oh please, please set me free
I'm under your spell like a man in a trance
But I know darn well, that I don't stand a chance so
Unchain my heart, let me go my way
Unchain my heart, you worry me night and day
Why lead me through a life of misery
when you don't care a bag of beans for me
So unchain my heart, oh please, please set me free
I'm under your spell like a man in a trance
But I know darn well, that I don't stand a chance so
Unchain my heart, let me go my way
Unchain my heart, you worry me night and day
Why lead me through a life of misery
when you don't care a bag of beans for me
So unchain my heart, please, please set me free
(please set me free)
Oh won't you set me free
(please set me free)
Woah, set me free
(please set me free)
Woowow, set me free little darlin
(please set me free)
