U.S. Route 82 in Georgia
U.S. Route 82 (US 82) is a U.S. highway that travels from a point just north of Alamogordo, New Mexico to a point southwest of Brunswick, Georgia. In the U.S. state of Georgia, it runs from the Chattahoochee River at Georgetown to its eastern terminus southwest of Brunswick. It passes through such cities as Albany, Tifton, and Waycross, before reaching its eastern terminus.
Route description
Georgetown to Albany
US 82 begins at the Alabama state line concurrent with SR 50. On the Alabama side of the state line, US 82 is concurrent with Alabama State Route 6. On the Georgia side of the state line, US 82/SR 50 head east through Georgetown to an intersection with SR 27/SR 39, where SR 39 begins a concurrency to the southeast. The three highways head southeast until SR 39 splits off to the south. US 82/SR 50 continue to the southeast until they reach an intersection with SR 266, just before entering Cuthbert. In the town, they intersect SR 216. On the east side of town is US 27/SR 1. On the extreme northern edge of Shellman is an intersection with SR 41. Here, they begin a brief concurrency. Just past Graves, SR 45 begins a concurrency until the three routes enter Dawson. In Dawson, there is an intersection with SR 520, where the concurrency with SR 45 ends and the concurrency with SR 520 begins. A short distance later is an intersection with SR 55. The two highways head southeast until they reach Albany.

U.S. Route 50 in California
In the U.S. state of California, U.S. Route 50 (US 50) runs east from I-80 in West Sacramento to the Nevada state line in South Lake Tahoe. Portions within Sacramento are known as the Capital City Freeway and El Dorado Freeway. The western half of the highway in California, from I-80 through Sacramento and Placerville to Exit 60 in Pollock Pines is a four-or-more-lane divided highway, mostly built to freeway standards. US 50 continues as an undivided highway with one eastbound lane and two westbound lanes until it reaches the canyon of the South Fork American River at Riverton. The remainder of the highway, which climbs along and out of the canyon, then over the Sierra Nevada at Echo Summit and into the Lake Tahoe Basin, is a mainly two-lane road.
The US 50 corridor is a historic one, used by many 49ers who came to California during the Gold Rush as well as the Pony Express. In 1895, part of the present-day route was designated as California's first state highway, and it was later considered as a scenic alternate of the Lincoln Highway. Much of US 50 was constructed during the initial construction of the California state highway system. During the second half of the twentieth century, US 50 was gradually designated and converted into a modern highway.

Alabama State Route 50
State Route 50 is a 54-mile-long (87 km) route in the eastern part of the state. The western terminus of the route is at it junction with State Route 229 near Lake Martin in northeastern Elmore County. The eastern terminus of the route is at its junction with U.S. Highway 29 at Lanett, just west of the Alabama-Georgia border.
Route description
From its origin, State Route 50 assumes an eastward trajectory as it skirts the southern shores of Lake Martin, passing through rural areas of Elmore County and Tallapoosa County. East of where the route would cross into Macon County if it were to continue its eastward trajectory, the route takes a sudden turn to the northeast as it leads towards Camp Hill.
After sharing a brief wrong-way concurrency with U.S. Highway 280 at Camp Hill, State Route 50 resumes its eastward trajectory as it crosses into Chambers County. The route continues eastward, passing through La Fayette before it reaches its terminus at Lanett.

U.S. Route 50 in Maryland
U.S. Route 50 (US 50) is a major east–west route of the U.S. Highway system, stretching just over 3,000 miles (4,800 km) from Ocean City, Maryland on the Atlantic Ocean to West Sacramento, California. In the U.S. state of Maryland, US 50 exists in two sections. The longer of these serves as a major route connecting Washington, D.C. with Ocean City; the latter is the eastern terminus of the highway. The other section passes through the southern end of Garrett County for less than 10 miles (16 km) as part of the Northwestern Turnpike, entering West Virginia at both ends. One notable section of US 50 is the dual-span Chesapeake Bay Bridge across the Chesapeake Bay, which links central Maryland with the Eastern Shore region, allowing motorists to reach Ocean City and the Delaware Beaches.
US 50 has received numerous upgrades during its existence in Maryland, including the building of the John Hanson Highway (which is also the unsigned Interstate 595), its extension onto the Eastern Shore and replacement of U.S. Route 213 due to the construction of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, and the full dualization of the eastern segment of the route. Many of the older alignments of US 50 are still part of the Maryland and US highway systems, such as U.S. Route 50 Business in Salisbury, Maryland. US 50 continues to be upgraded on the Eastern Shore to better accommodate beach travelers and locals alike.

U.S. Route 82 in Georgia
U.S. Route 82 (US 82) is a U.S. highway that travels from a point just north of Alamogordo, New Mexico to a point southwest of Brunswick, Georgia. In the U.S. state of Georgia, it runs from the Chattahoochee River at Georgetown to its eastern terminus southwest of Brunswick. It passes through such cities as Albany, Tifton, and Waycross, before reaching its eastern terminus.
Route description
Georgetown to Albany
US 82 begins at the Alabama state line concurrent with SR 50. On the Alabama side of the state line, US 82 is concurrent with Alabama State Route 6. On the Georgia side of the state line, US 82/SR 50 head east through Georgetown to an intersection with SR 27/SR 39, where SR 39 begins a concurrency to the southeast. The three highways head southeast until SR 39 splits off to the south. US 82/SR 50 continue to the southeast until they reach an intersection with SR 266, just before entering Cuthbert. In the town, they intersect SR 216. On the east side of town is US 27/SR 1. On the extreme northern edge of Shellman is an intersection with SR 41. Here, they begin a brief concurrency. Just past Graves, SR 45 begins a concurrency until the three routes enter Dawson. In Dawson, there is an intersection with SR 520, where the concurrency with SR 45 ends and the concurrency with SR 520 begins. A short distance later is an intersection with SR 55. The two highways head southeast until they reach Albany.
