The Normal is the recording artist name used by English music producer Daniel Miller, a film editor at the time, who is best known as the founder of the record label Mute Records.
In 1977, Miller had split up with his girlfriend. A friend suggested that he read a book he himself had just finished. The book was Crash (1973) by J.G. Ballard. He felt that Ballard's writing took him five minutes into the future; the novel was to be a major influence in the music he would produce as The Normal. Miller was disillusioned by the fact you needed to learn three chords to be in a punk band, so he decided to purchase a synthesiser. His thinking was that you only needed to learn to press one key on a synthesiser. After buying a Korg 700s synthesiser from Macari's music shop in London, Miller recorded and released a single under the name The Normal. This was "T.V.O.D."/"Warm Leatherette". Both tracks were minimalist electronic songs influenced by the Crash novel. He wanted the sound of the recordings to be visual, like driving along a highway between large buildings then going through a tunnel. The single was recorded in Daniel Miller's house using a TEAC four track tape recorder and the Korg mini700s synthesiser.
This is not a high-power device, just a scientific experiment, which is showing the basic principle. It is not even at resonant situation, but if it is, it will blow my diodes and maybe capacitor as well. Please pay attention to the bare copper sheet. It's not a inductor, not a capacitor, just a piece of metal tube.
In this part, the sheet copper cylinder is moved away. The output is coming out directly from the center turn of the secondary. Same diodes and capacitor. Also not a close loop, still not resonating.
How much electricity does your fan use... Here's the answer! Fan power consumption is based on the mode in which the fan operates. Usually fans have 3 to 4 speeds that determine the power consumption of the fan. In general, the lower the humidity, the better these tricks will work. The most impressive one to me is the floating bag trick. Depending on the conditions, you can float an entire grocery sack. 1. Hover Plate: (You need Styrofoam Plates and a cloth) Styrofoam plates are great for static electricity tricks. When you give them a charge and hold one above the other, you can feel an incredib...
I have a small fan motor with the original fan blades which produces power when placed in the wind. Read full article: http://www.thedoityourselfworld.com/articles/article.php?id=11456 This is an AC motor with no modifications. Of course a DC motor will generate a lot more power than an AC motor but a standard AC motor will usually produce a little bit of power when spun up in the wind. This is just a proof of concept video and I am not out to prove anything or power the World with this. This is a 115 volt AC motor rated at half an amp. Inside is an iron and aluminum core which holds a tiny bit of magnetism after it has been used. If I ran it on AC power for a while and then spun it up, it may produce a bit more power output. The soft iron core is meant to hold magnetism while the mot...
This science experiment shows electrical conductivity of soil and how well dry and wet ground (soil) conducts electricity. Also you will better understand how grounding (earthing) works. Light bulb is connected with one wire to the live (hot) wire, another wire is grounded with wet ground using regular water, and salt water. It is possible to transmit electricity using Single-wire transmission line, in this way Single wire earth return (SWER) or single wire ground return works. Touching ground with line (hot) wire can be dangerous due Earth Potential Rise (EPR) also called ground potential rise (GPR) occurs when a large current flows to earth through an earth grid impedance. The potential relative to a distant point on the Earth is highest at the point where current enters the ground, and ...
